    Cats release Cheatwood

    LINKY HERE

Geez, the knee injury must be pretty bad. This guy is/was a damn fine lineman.
Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

If the Esks were severely shallow at his position, I'd say perhaps; I've always liked Cheatwood's play, but with his injury and with our depth, I'd say no. Then again, with the way things are shaping up at RB for camp, I wouldn't be surprised.

Tim is a great guy and an outstanding player. I'm very sorry to see him go. I hate cuts (even when they're necessary)
You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take, and, statistically speaking, 99% of the shots you do.

I didn't think a team could release a player who has been injured. At least without some form of compensation.

Takes bad penalties, at times has been indicated that he favours the pass rush too much over run responsibilites but the guy is a great pass rusher and works hard. I doubt if the Esks would pursue him but who knows. He'll find a home somewhere unless his salary demands are too high.

Brandon Guillory will lead the team and possibly the league in sacks next year....you heard it here first.

You cant bring in guy like cheatwood whose played DE his whole career and ask him to play DT his pass rushing will be hampered by playing in line not to mention that he would have to be stout against the run at all times.

No thanks. Injury prone and his best days are behind him IMO.

Keep Alston to play inside, Cheatwood is a pass rusher he wouldn't be effective on the inside.

I agree with keeping Alston... more mileage in the long run!
