    Congrats Kamau - Canadian POTW

    Whoo hooo! I believe this is only our second team POTW award this season

    TORONTO (CFL) –– The Canadian Football League announced today the Rogers Players of Week for Week 11. Rogers Players of the Week are selected for on-field excellence by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.

    Offensive Player of the Week

    RB – Jarrett Payton – Montreal Alouettes

    BC Lions 14 @ Montreal Alouettes 32

    Highlights / Key Stats:

    Running back Jarrett Payton helped the Alouettes dominate the time of possession battle by carrying the ball a career-high 21 times for 119 yards and three touchdowns. Payton’s three touchdowns were from 1, 2 and 3 yards, also a career high. He averaged 5.7 yards per carry in the game, and averages 6.2 yards per carry this season.

    Defensive Player of the Week

    DB – Kahlil Carter – Toronto Argonauts

    Hamilton Tiger-Cats 22 @ Toronto Argonauts 35

    Highlights / Key Stats:

    Toronto Argonauts’ defensive back Kahlil Carter had an 82-yard interception return for a touchdown in Saturday’s Labour Day re-match against the Ti-Cats. The play came in the third quarter and sealed the game for the Argo’s. Carter also added seven tackles, raising his season total to 23.

    Runner Up:

    LB – Michael Fletcher – Toronto Argonauts



    Special Teams Player of the Week

    WR – Nate Curry – Hamilton Tiger-Cats

    Hamilton Tiger-Cats 22 @ Toronto Argonauts 35

    Highlights / Key Stats:

    Hamilton Tiger-Cats wide receiver Nate Curry fielded seven kickoffs for an average of 27.3 yards against the Argonauts. Curry also added three punt returns for a 9.3 yard average. Curry’s longest return was 60 yards and came on a third quarter kickoff.

    Runner Up:

    K/P – Damon Duval – Montreal Alouettes



    Canadian Player of the Week

    WR – Kamau Peterson – Edmonton Eskimos

    Calgary Stampeders 20 @ Edmonton Eskimos 17

    Highlights / Key Stats:

    Edmonton Eskimos wide receiver Kamau Peterson hauled in six receptions for 117 yards against the Stamps. On the very first play from scrimmage, Peterson caught a 64 yard pass which resulted in a successful field goal attempt. Peterson leads the Eskimos in receiving with 641 yards on 49 catches and five touchdowns this season.

    Runner Up:

    LB – Scott Coe – Calgary Stampeders
    LB – Kevin Eiben – Toronto Argonauts

    Good job, KP! Had you kept your foot in bounds and got that TD (and had we won ) you might have gotten offensive player to.

      Kamau has been one of the few bright spots this year, a real pleasant surprise. Looks like his reputation may not have been deserved.

      Best wishes for bringing the Esks' ship to a playoff port, and for a 1000-yard season!

                - "Turf toe can often progress into a chronic problem..."
                - "A mild instance of turf toe (grade 1) can be merely aggravating while a serious case (grade 3) can be debilitating."
