That TWIT - Tillman - abusing his position as a Sask. celebrity

This ass-hat has a lot of nerve. The guy is charged with sexual assault and has now launched all over the airwaves and the interweb to "speak" to this incident.

IMO, he is doing NOTHING but trying to sway public opinion onto "his side"...as if his accuser doesn't have enough to worry about (depression, stigma, etc) but now she may be force to fear being "outed" and god knows what some mentally deranged Tillman-is-god-and-I-heard-on-the-radio-he-is-innocent supporter will do.

I have a suspicion that there will be some kind of resolution prior to this thing going to trial which will prevent Sonic from having a felony record, but will do absolutely nothing to remove the tarnish from his name, and worse, or better if you're not a rider fan, this will indeed tarnish the riders organization if it doesn't go to trial.

From a pure football sense, one has to love the fact that rider nation is being evicerated...

From what I understand more of a big deal is being made about this then needs to be. In fact the fact that the family wanted the charges dropped says to me right there this event is not nearly as serious as what people are making it out to be. And if it isn't, then why wouldn't you want to defend your name in public.

Interesting that it was the Riders who moaned and bitched for a salary cap, and since a cap was put in place for them, they only years they've won they broke the salary cap rules.

I agree......I doubt this will go to trial.

I could see exactly why the family would want to try and protect their daughter from the harrassment, scorn, ridicule, and other disgusting acts perpetrated by rider nation, in their direction. Remember the fishbowl that they will be subject to.

I was in a situation in Mexico where a girl from Vancouver was assulted by a creep from quebec in our hotel. We found her sobbing on a beach lounger and we came to her aid, got the hotel/police involved and I actually apprehended the slimeball trying to flee the hotel when i was downstairs in the lobby trying to clearly explain to the hotel mgr what was happening in the midst of all the chaos. 5 hours, a trip to a mexican cop shop, and clinic later for a rape kit, I thought we had everything needed to totally nail this bastage. She spoke to the canadian consul the next day and was prepared to charge the guy 100%. She bailed out on that when she got home for reasons only known to her but she said she wanted to try and put it behind her and not have everything made public and go through the added ordeal. I could probably make similar correleations to this case by witnessing first hand what a victim goes through at the time of attack. That girl was an absolute wreck and was completely traumatized.

            Think of it this way......

It may not have been as serious an incident as the charges make it sound like.

Take for example the case of Mark Chmura, a former pro-bowl tight end for the Packers.......he had a litany of charges thrown against him. Sure, eventually he was found not-guilty of his charges, however he said himself that he was wrong to even be in that situation, and his behavior was not one that a married father should have been doing.

Sonic may get cleared, they could plea-bargain, who knows.......but what is for certain is that it is highly likely that something inappropriate occurred between him and a young girl. Because of that, the longer this gets drawn out, the more damage it will cause to the young girl as well as Tillman's family.

The guy has even been making long posts in threads on his sexual assault charge on the forums at cfl.ca. How does someone in his position do that?
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Great, I hope he hangs himself. Sonic's own ego can't keep his own mouth shut in the face of felony charges. A schmuck of epic proportions is he.

umm... the guy is sitting at home on administrative leave. He has nothing but time to pour over the internet.

and to be fair, he's saying very little about the case and is being very respectful.

I don't think he should be saying ANYTHING on an internet message board.
