I also believe the correct call was made. I doubt that the intention of the person whos foot the ball goes off matters in how the play is ruled.

i need to figure out my money situation!!

What really hurts about the Riders winning is that Warren Kean will be kicking in the Grey Cup in our house and in our dressing room. OMG

I believe the kicking only comes into play if the ball is kicked out of bounds. Because a Calgary player was the last to touch the ball and "batted" it into the end zone and a Saskatchewan player recovered the ball in the end zone, by rule the Riders then get the ball on their own 25 yard line and there are no points scored.

However, if a Saskatchewan player had batted the ball from the field of play into the end zone and then a Saskatchewan player recovered the ball it would have been a two point "safety touch" and the Riders would have had to kick the ball off to the Stamps from their own 35 yard line. So, yes, the correct call was made on that one.
Maciocia, Hall, Strasser, Hairston and Thorpe are finally all gone. The rest will take care of itself.

Good luck Kavis Reed and the rest of the Esks' new coaching staff!

          Re: Riders/Stamps GDT

I believe that it was very close on the fumble. It is tough to tell if his forearm was down before the ball was out. I would have felt that there was not enough evidence to overturn. On the one replay iot looked like there was green between his forearm and the ground (no it was not a sleeve) when he started to lose the ball. On another it looked like his arm was on the ground first. Once again a tough call.

I am surprised on the punt that no point was awarded. The ball went into the endzone, I would think that it should have at least been a single.

I am happy the Browner and Bryant`s actions cost their team dearly. Bryant took them out of feildgoal (sack did took them out more, but a shorted gain on Second down would have got them back in range) range and Browner gave the Riders extra downs in the red zone, one of which they pounded in for a TD.

Regina will not be as busy this weekend now people will trying to be going to Edmonton, rather then Agribition (a bunch of farmers on icy city roads is not fun)

            Anyways....

I'm happy the Riders beat the Stamps! I did not want Calgary in our EE New Players Room (dressing room) period! They are not worthy!

And Rotor.... I'm pulling for Sask next weekend because of the above statement....go riders go!

                Re: Riders/Stamps GDT

On the Wes Cates fumble, the call of the field was a fumble and a Calgary recovery, therefore Calgary's ball. The rule reads that upon review there has to be "conclusive evidence" to overturn the call that is made on the field. I have looked at the replay on PVR about a dozen times and, as objectively as I can, I really can't tell if either his forearm and/or his knee were down before the ball comes out. From one of the angles they show, his forearm and his knee are NOT down before the ball comes out. To me, that is not "conclusive evidence" and the call on the field should have stood.

Who is the home team this year - east or west - because I believe the home team gets their choice of dressing rooms.

                            Actually, you're wrong.

I can play this game too, isn't it easy? Go back and look at the thirty replays and make note of the non hand/foot contact with the ground before the ball comes out.
Of course you think he's wrong, you cheer for the team that benefitted from the blown call.

I have a 50" HD TV and watched EVERY replay and there was no conclusive evidence ANYWHERE that he was down before it came out. And since the call on the field was fumble......the replay booth ****ed up. You can play whatever games you want, check the footage, it was a fumble.

Interesting that it was the Riders who moaned and bitched for a salary cap, and since a cap was put in place for them, they only years they've won they broke the salary cap rules.

Not sure about that one, but if the right call was made on the fumble, the ball gets turned over and it's 16-13 Stamps. So the endzone call was more or less irrelevant.

You are the most biased anti-Rider poster I know. Your opinion carries little weight in my book.
