    Naylor Says Berry, Hall, Marshall Likely New Riders' Head Coach

    Naylor: Three Possible Candidates For Riders' Head Coach

    Brendan Taman, Saskatchewan's general manager, said the team's new coach needs to be somebody who understands the market and I think the top three candidates for this job all do.

    One would be Doug Berry, who was the offensive coordinator of the Saskatchewan Roughriders this past season, and has head coaching experience in Winnipeg, where he worked with Taman.

      Yup. Mine too. Especially since he has a close relationship with Miller. With any luck at all, maybe he can take Mo Lloyd with him.

        I would find it hilarious if Hall takes the job and outperforms Tillspin's hire by a wide margin

          Yes, that would be "interesting" to say the least.

                Taman hired and fired Berry in Winnipeg. I'm not so sure he wants to repeat that whole cycle

                  I keep hearing that Etchevery and Miller are suppossed to be very close (Etcheverry gave Miller his first CFL job as an assistant in Toronto). Would think that Miller would have some influence in who his replacement would be and that if that was the case that Etchevery would have a shot.

                    Had another thought. Would Kavis Reed be a candidate in SSK or would he be as popular a pick for Rider fans as Rick Campbell would be for Esk fans?

                      Etcheverry failed so miserably in TO, he might never get another shot in the CFL.

                        He was miles ahead of Ron Lancaster before ol buddy Huey gave him a shot in Edmonton. Never say never. Boy we sure learned that around these parts the last couple of months or so.

                            Interesting that it was the Riders who moaned and bitched for a salary cap, and since a cap was put in place for them, they only years they've won they broke the salary cap rules.
