Austin to be Ticats next HC/GM

Announcement today. Rider nation realizes that it was all business and that Austin really didn't have any sentimental attachement to the big Vagine

Soooo...does that mean the other part of the rumor is true and Tillman (hocktooey!) will be showing up in Hamilton as well?

      In what role?

Too much responsibility. He would want to trade his really good sturdy toilet brush for 1 brush with only one bristle, a brush that wasn't even built yet and might never get there.

The question I have is whether the Esks pursued Austin in their search because he would have looked real good on the EE sidelines.

I thought at one time that AUsin said he was not interested in returning to Canada and would play out the string in the U.S. college circuit.

I thought I read that too actually and wondered why he was all of a sudden he changed his mind and was going to Hamilton.

Money must have talked pretty loudly in this case(Bob Young is a billionaire, no?).

Wow, I am surprised. He must be collecting a huge paycheque.

I've seen reports online that his deal could be around 2 million a season.

I think he didn't want to come to the CFL just as a HC, but had interest if it was a GM/HC like he's going to do in Hammy

2 mil a season seems really high doesn't it? Considering the SMS is only $4.6mil? Are teams really paying that much?

I don't think that counts against the cap anymore, does it?

Nah I don't think it does either...I was just saying how it compares to what the players are making compared to the GM, Head Coach etc. I mean, Cortez was making $400k/year...or top tier QB money...$2mil is like old Flutie money isn't it?

No chance 2M a season, I think you misread. I read 2M total deal. Assume it would be a four year deal. Which would still work out to more than he makes at Cornell.
