    Bombers coaching - O'Shea hired

Looks like the Bombers are looking hard at O'Shea

    Kirk Penton ‏@PentonKirk 1h
Word around #CFL getting louder that Mike O'Shea will be #Bombers head coach and Khari Jones offensive co-ordinator.

Pretty risky move it you ask me for the Bombers. The good is that OShea was pretty inventive as a st coach, the bad is that he doesn't even have exp as a oc or dc does he? As for Jones as oc? Marcus Crandell version 2.0!

I was going to say they're putting the cart before the horse hiring coaches before they have a GM... but looks like they announced Kyle Walters as their GM today.
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

The Argos special teams have been terrible for a long time. He took one huge risk in his own endzone one game and everyone considers him inventive.

        Good luck to the Bombers.

Looks like Doug Brown is skeptical of the GM hiring,

Kyle Walters transitioned from special teams coach to GM, in under a year. He's either a prodigy, or this was rushed. Only time will tell.

It's definitely a gamble... I guess time will tell. The Esks last three coaches have all been fairly safe picks, insofar as while they were new HC's, they were all well established co-ordinators, and none of those turned out well. I guess it comes down to recognizing aptitudes and putting them in the right spots.

I'd rather be in the situation we are in than the situation the Bombers are in....

His teams made multiple innovative plays for the 1st couple years he was there and they pulled off pretty well every one. Suspect head coaching candidate though.

                    Re: Bombers coaching RUMOURS

After the red-headed stepchild had his way with our team, we were left in a fairly similar status as Winnipeg in terms of areas of need.

Both clubs needed a starting QB, both clubs need stable and legitimate management / coaching.

In these areas we are fighting head to head with them, as well as Ottawa to an extent.

It seems that we have at least been leading the race to address these areas before someone else can ink a selection over someone we may be interested in. We beat the Bombers to the Reilly punch, and it looks like we are closer to narrowing our HC search before Winnipeg or Ottawa.

I think it can be viewed as a positive anyway.

One thing you cannot accuse Hervey of is being indecisive. To this point he has made his decisions and take immediate action

The Esks are in a much better situation just because they have Stamps & Reilly.

Have learned that Winnipeg gm Kyle Walters is in Regina today interviewing Khari Jones & George Cortez. #CFL

And Buono has got permission to talk to Cortez about the Lions vacant OC position. Apparently Cortez was on a one year contract and will be free at the end of this year. Think I've heard that he goes way back with Wally so it wouldn't be surprising if he ends up there.

It sure looks like it is setting up that way.

Frankly, that would be a huge blow to the Riders as that offense was very ordinary before Cortez arrived...Sheets/Durant or not!!

To me it was never about what I accomplished on the football field, it was about the way I played the game.
