And some Tiger-Cat camp news as well...
People to watch:
* QB Jon Beutjer. The 6-foot-5, 213 pounder features an intriguing combination of size & speed. He turned heads this morning by running a 4.57 40-yard sprint (on what is considered a very slow field) & could be the Cat passer of the future if he can beat out Sankey as #3 QB.
* K Chuck Tack. The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder fills out his sweater, particularly for a kicker. He is the only challenger to Cat incumbent kicker Jamie Boreham.
* OL Fabio Filice. The Hamilton native was the Cats' second round draft pick. He is battling a deep field to make the club as a backup offensive lineman.
Defensive Notes: Ticats 2005 draft pick Jeremy Steeves had his TC come to an unfortunate end when the DB suffered a tear in his bicep muscle. Wayne Shaw continues to play the middle, with Chris Martin, Airabin Justin, Jason Goss and Dedric Mathis filling out the back row. "D" coordinator Kavis Reed expects big things from that unit after an impressive showing down the stretch in 04. Players to watch are Jykine Bradley, John Barnes and Tad Kornegay. Bradley, Barnes and Kornegay have been getting a lot of reps in practice and are pushing hard for a starting role.
Offensive Notes: If the Cats are in good N/I shape elsewhere -getting 6 or more Canadians in at OL, DL and LB, plus fullback Radlein and safety Wayne Shaw (& if American kicker Tack doesn't beat out Jamie Boreham) -- it's not imperative to start Mike Morreale. When the club lines up Troy Davis & Julien Radlein in the backfield, leaving room for only 4 ball catchers, those receivers are likely to be DJ Flick, Craig Yeast, Archie Amerson, and newcomer Chris Brazzell, who isn't being paid all that money not to start.
Again... thoughts?

. The offence shouldn't be their biggest problem, I don't think.
