Dave Yule et all - joke of the league

After watching the Sask Calgary game I have to believe the controversial penalities called against the Riders were bad. I can't wait till video replay is introduced.

Which refs are bad when the Esks play?

There were some brutal calls that undoubtedly cost the Riders some momentum and quite possibly the game.

Something needs to be done ASAP or we can kiss this League goodbye IMO..

Wow...very cool of u guys to agree with us on that...the calgary fans obviously thought all of those calls were warranted...brutal officiating...

I know my bud Muley will disagree...lol, for his own reasons..

My god. Riders, I feel for ya. The lame ass call on Benefield and the non call on the Reynolds fumble especially, really hurt you guys.

Jake Ireland. Absolutely hates the Esks. Makes every call against them........

If he is officiating a game, I lose 20% of my hope right off of the bat for a win.

Interesting that it was the Riders who moaned and bitched for a salary cap, and since a cap was put in place for them, they only years they've won they broke the salary cap rules.

I don't think the officiating is THAT bad.

Also, video replay would have made little difference today.

Officiating is horrible in this league, Angelus. The refs have made bad call after bad call this year.

I agree.

But let's not go overboard here. Name one league where the officiating doesn't suck. Every league has problems. And yes, the CFL has room for improvement. Video replay could improve that...and I believe the CFL is providing funding for training it's officials. Give it time.

I just don't think it's as bleak as so many (as illustrated in Jed's post) seem to think. That's all.

I agree the refing in this league has been terrible this year but its happening south of the border as well. The Saints have been screwed two weeks in a row bad to cost them games. They had Mike Ditka on ESPN radio talking about it today and he said the refing this year in the NFL has been mediocer at best and they have replay. So it makes me feel better that its not just us here in the CFL as this year has been by far the worst for consistacy.

They have built-in accountability features that the CFL sorely lacks. If an official has a bad game(s) it costs him his job in the NFL..

This dramatically improves the officiating right off the bat because no one can afford to be complacent.

The issues that NFL officials have are miniscule when compared to the one's the CFL has on a weekly basis.

Human error is a given.. Perennial incompetence shouldn't be.
