Half-time

Not to be all negative and what-not, but seriously, how bad were the Black Eyed Peas? I mean, they sounded bad, looked dumb on stage, and there was nothing to back them up, ie. pyrotechnics, people dancing around,etc.

IMO, the best half-time band was still Trooper in Edmonton '97. They had CW rocking

I may not be a fan, but they attract an important demographic to the CFL. And I'm all for that.

I swear I heard booing after they were done. They were brutal IMO. I was really hoping for a Janet Jackson episode from Fergie.

I don't disagree, but they sounded really bad. And the show around them, IMO looked amateur.

it sounded really bad because of the accustics in BC Place. You can't even hear the PA announcer. It sounds like a bad drive through window speaker.

Yeah, but when you've got a pre-set stage (otherwise they'd need 12-14 hrs of setup for lights and rigging) and it has to be rolled out there in 5 minutes, I don't think they did badly. Maybe CBC could've mixed the soundboard better from their microphones, rather than the stadium sound (but wait they'd be lip syncing so that wouldn't work )

Agreed. Wilkie was on the opposite side of the stadium from us and it was terrible where we were too. As for the show, meh whaddaya gonna do? I've seen worse half time shows and it was good league exposure.

I thought the Black Eyed Peas did a great job in their performance (Though I'm a fan of theirs). The biggest problem with the performance was the lack of the "it" factor. If they had fans on the field surrounding the stage and some more lights and/or pyro, then it really would have added a "hollywood" effect to it that would make that much better.

I think what the CFL should do is work with Much Music in putting on the halftime show. It worked great down south when the NFL and MTV partnered up...that is until the whole Janet Jackson incident. None the less, the CFL could spend more time working on an already thriving product while Much Music could do what it does best...put on one hell of a show.

I just thought that the songs sucked, like the first song they played sucked and then I like don't phunk w/ my heart but it sounded as though they were gonna crouch over and die, and then they played that new hump song which IMO sucks, the only thing that was good about that was Fergie.

Good idea about the halftime show and muchmusic; could really make a difference.

Peas were bad- I flipped to Giants/Seattle at half.

The sound was awful.
The songs were so-so.
I hate the Hump song, any song that has the words 'my lovely lady lumps' in it just reeks of blatant exhibitionism, and it wouldn't bother me except that alot of kids are fans of this group.
With so much good Canadian talent out there....um...why the Peas?
