    Man, I wish we had a guy like this. 32 carries for 233 yards I believe. That's sick.

    Against Ottawa, Pringle had 29 carries for 114 yards...just as a comparison.

    Avery looked pretty decent tonight as well.

    Troy Davis could one day break the rushing record. If he can keep having games like this and he'll do it in no time.

    Mike Pringle, I think the only reason he came back this year is to break George Reeds rushing record. Don't get me wrong he is a good player, but I think his days are numbered.

    The Eskimos should have tryed harder to get John Avery back.

      Mike is what we got......everyone must learn to deal with it....IMO he hasn't slipped talent wise from what he has done last year and that was good enough for a GC title......his blocking just isn't as good this year......

        Oh, I understand that. There are a lot better RB's in the CFL and I can deal with that.

        But what I question, is if it wasn't for that record, would Mike even be our starting RB? Do we possibly have better backs on the team already (i.e. Bradley/White)?

        Maybe not...but I wouldn't mind finding out.

          I don't know Phil, I don't think either of them have the same tools.....they have youth and speed, but I don't know if they have the power & blocking ability, not to mention experience....

            I would like to see them get the ball a little bit.....would be nice to know if we'll be okay next year or not......

              What tools does Mike have? Honestly.

              He's slow. Sure, he's got power, but how many guys does he actually run over? Often it's the first contact guy that brings him down.

              Our running offence lacks complete imagination with him as our back. It's always straight up the gut or off-tackle simply because he's not quick enough to get outside.

              And we've already discussed his limited blocking ability. And he doesn't have the best hands in the world...

              You're right about the experience factor, but I still think someone like Bradley could do a little more back there.

                  I agree with you. IMO Pringle's abilities have faded quite noticably over the last 3 years. You'd think with the former Montreal coaches we have in our staff, who had worked with Pringle before, would be a bit more creative with his running. But like you said, our run blocking has been ok at best.

                  And I don't know, I think Pringle has done a great job blocking this year, better than last year IMO

                    From what I've seen of Bradley he will very well become a star running back in the CFL. He's got moves, speed and power. Prety much an all-round RB.

                    Alot of people expected Pringle to break the rushing record early in the season. Now going into game 12 and with 116 yards left to go, Mike Pringle will need a break-out game to break it on Friday. Love to se him do it at home but I think he'll do it in the following game vs B.C.

                    George Reeds record has stood for 29 years (I think). Any way the question I ask is with guys the likes of Troy Davis, John Avery, Josh Ranek, and in future Mike Bradley. How long will Pringle's record be around for? With the yards Davis got in his last game I don't think it will last to long.

                      Personally I am glad that the Eskimos didn't get John Avery. Not saying that he isn't an explosive running back, but he still has a injury problem and is no where near the top of the league in terms of talent. The way I see it, every team can find a capable RB through good scouting. Darren Diedrick should end up with the Esks soon, maybe at the start of the next season. Avery is overpaid and besides, Pringle is having a better year as well.

                              Pringle's record will never be broken, IMO.

                              Pringle came along at the right time i.e. he played for a couple of american teams (Sacramento, Baltimore) that were staunch advocates of the running game along with Montreal, who under Maccocia always featured Pringle along with play action passing..

                              Pringle's career ypg is obnoxiously high and it will be next to impossible for anyone to duplicate it in an effort to obtain the record inside of the 13 seasons that Reed and Pringle got theirs. Injuries and changing offensive philosophies due to the fickle nature of ownership in the CFL will make it to next to impossible for anyone to get within earshot of this record..

                              I say it never gets broken.

                              Only a fool would choose not to be on hand for that magic carry on Friday night.

                              I say he gets it around the third quarter on a fifteen yard scamper up the middle.

                              I consider myself blessed to have played with and against Mike.

                              I tore my right bicep tackling him on a kick off in 1993...

                              He is a strong, tough back.
