ESPN Classics has been running the 87 Cup again

They had it on three times last night, I finally have it on DVD. But it doesn't have the orange jacket interview.

I am so happy I voted 4,500 times on the Gizmo kick return TD last year which won the "Greatest Play in Grey Cup history" during Grey Cup week. It only won by 2,500 votes. My wrist has never been the same.

What a play, what blistering speed. No one will ever be better than the Giz.

TNT did the exact same thing...

I saw that play in person; it was electrifying. Thanks for the wrist clicks, Nanook!
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Once again Internet polls ruin the day. Well at least Tony Gabriel's catch didn't win. Make me puke.

That was the most exciting pick on that poll. Some gomer Rider fan (Kelowna Rider fan) told me via PM how he was cheating the system.

For most of the poll Gizmo was leading by about 800 votes. Suddenly the boring Rider field goal took the lead by 1,000 votes. I was wondering where the 1,800 votes came from.

It was rather funny actually. We were both voting at the same time (Kelowna Rider fan) but he was increasing the count twice as fast as me. He actually PM'd me and bragged how he was voting faster. I found a way to cheat the system down to one click per vote. He was three clicks per vote.

One a day when he wasn't on I built a big lead and then reported to TSN how the vote was being cheated. They put in security measures to prevent this from occuring and from there on out the poll was only voted on once per day by all users.

The best play won, not like the injustice this year.

And earlier in the vote the Argo play jumped by 10,000 votes. TSN cancelled all of those votes. It came in one bulk vote by some computer geek who really knew how to cheat the system.

The Seagram's Greatest Play in CFL Histroy is the Gizmo run-back!

Please tell me you weren't intimating that the Ridgeway FG was the greatest GC play?

Man, it wasn't even the greatest FG in GC history......

Okay, at least give me that it capped the most exciting Grey Cup in history. 43 -40. That great catch by Tony Champion to tie it up. Classic game.

Not sure if you'll find much agreement in these parts after the 05 GC.

Very true. And these things are always so highly interpretive, anyway.

'05 was just the most recent (and best example - as it truly was the most exciting of all time - can't beat going into OT), but there have also been a lot tighter and exciting games decided with less time left than the 89 game.

Heck I can even think of two Esks wins more thrilling (87 - Kauric 40+ yarder in the dying seconds & 81 Cutlers game winner to complete the huge comeback in the dying moments as well)....

How about Passaglia's last play FG to beat the Stallions?

87 and 05 are the most exciting.

The 89 Cup wasn't exciting, it just ended a long drought only to start another.

Being a double over-time game I find it is hard to beat.

Especially considering we had to go for a two point convert to tie the game late to get to over-time.

Also don't forget the late 3rd and 4 gamble that wound up being the huge play to Mookie.....

And this game didn't go to DVD? First HD game ever and it didn't make it? I am so glad Leslie is done this year.

I wonder how long we have to wait before ESPN classics can air it?
