    Boose gone

As reported today in the Edmonton Sun. Dorian met with Higgins yesterday behind closed doors and was told to clean out his locker.....

Damn you fishy... beat me by mear seconds.....

here's the quote from the paper.. ( at least i can post that , even though its not needed )

    LATE HITS ...

After meeting with Higgins yesterday, import defensive lineman Dorian Boose was told to clean out his locker. Boose, 30, appeared in 16 regular-season games as well as the Grey Cup last season, but saw limited playing time this year. The six-foot-five, 292-pound Boose could be back with the club next season, although that appears unlikely at this point.

Can someone shed any light on what happened to this guy this year?

Sho did. He was in the doghouse from day one at camp.

The third great player Higgins has run out of town.

The D-line has been the biggest disappointment for me this year by far. The guys that have played have done a reasonable job so I am not mad at them but at the end of last year we had the best D-line in the league, able to stop the run, put pressure on the QB and were generally a force. I expected the same guys to be back and I thought our D would be dominant this year. Then Boose and Kinney sit out most of the year. As I said before there has to be something deeper than just being out of shape in camp.

He looked at Higgins the wrong way?

All I heard was he arrived at camp overweight.

This is a trend that I really don't like. Players leaving on bad terms. At one time every player in the CFL wanted to play for the Eskimos. Higgins is doing his best to burn those bridges down.

                    Re: Boose gone

Give me a break! Blaming this on Tom Higgins is as ridiculous as it was when Terry Ray was sent packing. Coach Higgins did not tell Ray to get laser eye surgery just before training camp and he didn't tell Dorian Boose to spend the off-season stuffing himself. Boose was ineffective at best this season because he was out of shape. A player doing something to fall out of favour with a coach is the player's fault not the coach's.

True to a point, however I thought he played well in the last game he played, then he was yanked for the rest of the year. T-Ray's deal IMO had nothing to do with his laser surgery.

Boose was dogging it this year. He got cut.

tough call, everbody loved his play last year... when something like this happens the first blame always goes to the coach, weather it was the right move or not is never easy to scale.
I told those f***s down at the league office a thousand times that I don't roll on Shabbos!

Boose looked alot "larger" whenever I saw him in person this year compared to last.

Its too bad, though. He is a good player.

Ahhhh...come on Jed, everyone knows it's Higgins fault!!

While many people here have talked about getting the likes of Boose and Kinney into the lineup, I find your comment interesting. Having coached minor football with Higgins a number of years ago, I know that he expected the players to practice hard. If that is indeed what happened, then perhaps the Eskimos are better off without him.

To me it was never about what I accomplished on the football field, it was about the way I played the game.
