    Abraham Cut

    Abraham released by Eskimos

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos announced today they have released non-import linebacker Jean-Philippe Abraham. Last season as a rookie, Abraham saw action in nine games, mostly on special teams. He recorded one special team tackle. The Laval product was drafted by the Eskimos in the 4th round (34th overall) in the 2006 CFL Canadian Draft.

The Eskimos also confirmed that import defensive back Steven Marsh will not rejoin the team. After two impressive seasons with the Esks, Marsh was injured in the 2005 Grey Cup. He underwent knee surgery during the off-season and missed the entire 2006 season.

Ok, while he failed to impress anyone we now are down to a total of 1 NI linebacker ( Botterill).

That now leaves us with a grand total of 6 NI defensive players so far coming to camp.

I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

Sad news to hear about Marsh. Is his career over, or is this just for 2007?
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Hmm, perhaps another signing may be around the corner... or a possible trade?? Colour me a bit concerned.

That or we plan on going after some players in the supplimental draft. That Jermaine Lee really worked out well didn't he..........

Maybe there's a new NI/I ratio in the league and only we know about it

Christ I'm really not sure what the plan is? If Braidwood or Larose get's nicked, we are playing 4 NI receivers or an all canadian backfield at this point.

We are moving the franchise to Tuscaloosa, Alabama it's that simple, thus we no longer need any NI strength.

Once again, our management are either mad geniuses or just plain mad. I've never seen such an exodus of NI talent/depth with very few if any replacements. None of our four draft picks better be stiffs or we are in a heap of trouble.

                      Re: Abraham Cut

There has to be something coming down the pipe in terms of NI players on the defensive side of the ball. I can't believe that we would go into a training camp/season with 4 NI players with CFL experience and two unproven draft picks.

Right now we are at 65 players plus draft picks. The TC roster is seriously skewed in terms of where we have our NI players

                              Isn't Longchamps (6th round) returning?

good lord, I just don't understand where we expect to find the NI's to make up for these cuts.......
