    Mobley to Announce Retirement

    It has been brought to my attention the Mobley will announce his retirement from the CFL on Friday.

    Sad to see him go, but proud to say he was an Eskimo.

    A truly great player. Sad to see him step away, but at least he's not going to wear anyone else's colours!

    As true an Eskimo as there ever was. Rarely has there been seen such devotion, such willingness to give heart and soul.

    Turf Toe:
    - "...turf toe is a common malady that is more of a nuisance than a serious injury."
    - "Turf toe can often progress into a chronic problem..."
    - "A mild instance of turf toe (grade 1) can be merely aggravating while a serious case (grade 3) can be debilitating."

      Bittersweet. While I am glad that the only uni he'll ever wear in this league is an Eskimo one, I still believe that he had earned the right to go out on his own terms after at least one more season. His absence will leave a huge void, not just on the field, but in the locker room as well. For everything he gave back to this community in the Eskimos name, I am still saddened by his release.

      All the best to yourself and your young one Mobes, you're more than just an Eskimo player; you're truly one of us (Edmontonian)...and it was and still is an honour to have you here in our northern town. The wall of honour beckons your name, you've more than earned it through blood, sweat, and tears.

          WOW Another great player hangs them up. Im only 22 so guys like Swerve and Mobes are going to be guys I will remember growing up with my age.

          I hope #27 sticks around in the organization like Ed did. It means a lot to me to have guys like these continue the future of the double E.

            I'd love to see Mobes as our LB coach one day. That way his leadership and determination is still sort of on the field.

              so... does the team need to re-sign Mobes so that he can retire as a player? (rather than retiring after being released... or is that just splitting hairs?)

                perhaps someday...he would be following in some legendary footprints in that regard as well.....

                  Good for him. Tempting to sign up with another team for a year or two...but good on him for remaining an Eskimo to the core. That's the kind of guy we want in the locker room. Hopefully there are a few others in there right now.

                          Sad, I wanted him to be given one more year.

                          Let him go out on a winning note rather than what DM gave us last year.

                          I am really bitter about this, Mobes was a class individual and he deserved better. I think he had one more year in him.
