    Goldie

I know Goldie is #1 on the depth charts.............
I know he has looked really good at camp this year.....
I know he is in the best shape of his life........
I know he ripped it up the last 2 games last year.....
I'm not 100% confident he is the one for the job.
Can someone convince me otherwise to believe Goldie is the one !!

        Re: Goldie

Goldie will do fine IMO, but we will have to play the games to see for sure......

            Re: Goldie

Would be interesting to see what Rider fans thought of RR just as he began to hit the spotlight.

Goldie is still a lot of potential, not much chance at performance. THat's going to make him a huge question mark for a while. But, unlike JJ, it looks like he may get his chance in the spotlight.

RB performances are also subject to the OC's offensive scheme, so Goldie's success level might also have a lot to do with Jacques Chapdelaine's choices.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

              I agree with glenvb...

If this was a Macioca ran offense, I would say he is not the guy. But with all the movement, different packages, flare outs, etc., I think Goldie will fit in.

The only real questions are his blitz blocking and his fumblitis...

Well he sure did fine when he was allowed to run later in the season.

I've only seen him put one on the ground so far at camp, and his blocking isn't at Davis-level yet but it looks to be improved. I also think the offensive schemes we will be running won't allow teams to tee off on the blitz as much as they did last year.

This should lead to a lot more red-zone success for the Esks this year.
