    I thought you had shaken off some of that Wheatie dust from your boots......?

    Why, oh why, must you propogate the myth of the number of Rider fans coming to games here...

    Saskatchewan fans are expected to make up more than 40 per cent of the crowd tonight. Some will carve out watermelons for hats. Others will paint their faces and other body parts in Rider green.

    Think about it for a second, with a average attendance of around 40,000.....with the vast majority being season ticket holders, we would barely scrape over 20,000 to non-rider games according to your claim.......

    Don't make me get our stats guy after you........

        I am so sick of this myth of 15-20000 rider fans attending every calgary winnipeg and edmonton game. sell out your own 30k stadium all the time first, then start boasting about out of town attendance

              I'd say they had about that many here for the wind-up of that centennial cup thing.....that's why I say "max - 5,000". Now you can give or take that number by a bit either way.....but no more really than that amount for any meaningful contest.

                This is easily settled.

                In 2006, CW attendance at the Rider game in week 9 was 39K, as opposed to 32K for Montreal two weeks earlier. In week 20, CW attendance at the Rider game was 31K, compared to 39K for Toronto two weeks earlier. Similar stats have always applied: there is NO discernible difference in attendance between Rider games and other teams.

                So, if tons of Rider fans are coming to CW when the Riders come to town, they're also coming for Esk games against the Als, Ti-Cats, and Argos. Somehow, I don't think that's the case.

                              I was at a Rider/Esks game a couple of years ago at CW, and there were a fair amount of Rider fans there...out of the 53k probably around 10k were Rider fans ...however, half the province has moved there in the last 15 years so is that really out of town support?

                              That whole thing is over blown.
