    Post game thoughts...

    - The Esks got beneficial reffing in this one, mainly the roughing call on Nowacki, Hamilton has every right to bitch about that one.

    - Receivers were BREWTALLL, at least 5 flat out drops, at least 2 or 3 plays where the player didn't show enough fight for the ball.

    - Did the Esks get even one first down after they went up 18-10? The offense was bad to say the least. Ricky Ray had an okay game but what an awful brain cramp sliding 3 or 4 yards short of the 1st down late in the game. It's debateable whether he'd have made it anyway but no way he could slide on that one.

    - D-line pressure much better, it's amazign what doing away with the 3 man rush will do. The Esks did go to 3 down lineman a few times tonight but brought a backer at least each time.

    - Seeing Lumsden with my own eyes reenforces that this guy is the real deal, he is scary fast and looks like he can break it if he gets any kind of hole. The Cats should have used him more, especially early.

    - Jason Flowers is a damn good looking player, for only being here a couple weeks he was our best db hands down.

    - Fleming had a tremendous day punting....Punt and kick returns? At least as good if not better than Tompkins.

    - I'd like to see Fred Stamps moved to the near side WR from the wide side to get him the ball more.

Very big win considering the injury situation but we can't seem to put a good all around game together.

I know you shouldn't critique a win....but sheesh, that was ugly.
The offence had numerous chances to put this one away in the second half with great field position, but just couldn't move the ball.
I'm sorry, but I can't get excited about an offence built around a dump pass to its running back. A running back who can't get the tough yards on the ground when they're needed. We seriously need a running game...or at least the threat of one. I realize there are injury problems on the O-line, but they are going to get killed next week in Regina if that's the best the offence can do.
Certainly not Ray's best day. He seems so reluctant to make any throws downfield....many times when it appears receivers are open.
What happened to that wide open offence we saw in the first couple of games?

First off the whole lip service out of the igloo this week about making a commitment to run the ball more was complete horesh*t. This offence is allergic to running the ball! We are the only team who passes to kill a game with a lead and it's at least the 7th time in the past two seasons where the offence has kept shooting the defence in the foot and force them onto the field late in the game to secure a game.

Ray's play has deteriorated over the past 3 weeks. RR's deep ball blows chunks. He is also not managing his game very well and is part of the allergy to running the ball.

Dline finally showed up and played to the level that MUST be their base effort week in and week out. Baggs and Abdulah still blew week side contain on the option handoff. I'm surprised that Hamilton didn't run it more often. Warner came to play.

Perryman is showing that he's starting to understand this game. Had a solid effort.

We are going to keep losing Olinemen if we ask them to pass protect 45 times a game.

KP had a good outing. Don't ever drop one of those seam routes again!

      TJ - Awful.

Gass, thankfully he appealed as he shut down Lumsden almost single handedly. We'll miss him next week.

Flowers had a nice game in injury relief. Williams not a very good baptism by fire.

This team will get Comiskey and Garrett back but lost two more starters tonight. Serious gut check time next week. What kind of team do they want to be?

Had to call that idiot hosting CHED's post game show. According to the Esks appololist radio host, everything was roses tonight. Had to set him straight to the point where he caved on his position and then tried to make the argument that we shared the same opinion. TOOL!

I likene our defence to the Levee's in New Orleans when Hurrican Katrina hit...

We are having huge troubles on D right now, and next week isn't going to be any better.

I'm still shocked that on 3rd and 3 with the game on the line the Ti-Cats opted for a low percentage bomb. What the hell was that? A gift I guess. They gave us that game.

I'll take it but I feel kind of guilty and dirty.

agreed on all accounts ,we could have just as easily lost this game tonight

I hardly consider it a poor decision to abandon the run when McLendon is having the kind of running game that he was having. Whether it was the o-line or him not seeing the holes...the running game simply wasn't there. Besides, he's quite a thread coming out of the backfield.

Granted...there were other aspects of the game that were not solid, and I've already mentioned some...but to try to run at the end of the game when it wasn't getting you anything at the beginning, would have been pointless.
I officially retract my vote for DDS as Prime Minister. He's clearly incompetent.

Didn't we do the same thing in the 2005 Grey Cup?

Our o-line has trouble blocking on the stretch play running play. (Where they all basically slant to one side as soon as the ball is snapped). Too much penetration and that blows up the play.

Well it wasn't pretty but look on the bright side.

After 7 games a rebuilding football team is playing .500 football. It could be worse. I'll just leave it at that for the night. Like I said, were bad but the Stamps might be equally as bad. Here's hoping.

That was the worst football game I've ever seen in my life. I cannot believe how bored I was. I had to keep drinking just to get the urge not to walk out...

Let me put it this way: I've seen the Esks play poorly and lose. I'd rather see them play poorly and win.

They played well in spurts tonight, but they can't expect that kind of game to get them into the playoffs.
