    If I was a betting man;

    If I was a betting man (and I actually thought this on labour day) I'd say that Casey Printers signs with the Ticats and Maas ends up back in Edmonton where he really wants to be.
    I know, I know, we already have 2 back up QB's but isn't this what everybody wants in the Public relations nightmare that is this years Eskimo's?

    That acctually makes sense. You notice though that the CFL rumors are suggesting that Printers could go to every CFL except the Eskimos.

      I origionally heard on labour day that the Ticats got the jump on letting his agent know their intentions. Now I read Calgary, WPG and BC and TO are intersted. NO way he's going back to BC (he's not welcome in the dressing room) WPG has a good thing in Glen, Toronto has Bishop adn the Chumpps seem happy with BUrris. I hope I'm right. He can rot in Hamilton where he'll do no harm to us :>)

        I could live with that. The one thing this team could use is a guy that is going to scream in the face of a few guys when they are sucking.
        Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

          On the TEAM 1040 here in Vancouver they've been reporting that the two teams still in th erunning are BC and the Tiger-Cats. Hope he goes east...

            nah, we got LeFors and Jyles who are capable back-ups. I like Maas, but I'd rather he not come here.

              This might sound like Heresy to some but I actually think Casey Printers is overrated as far as being a saviour Qb is concerned. The year he was mvp and played brilliantly his effectiveness went down alot at the end of the year when teams gameplanned to keep him in the pocket and make him throw. I don't see him being any better than Burris at best.

                It seems apparent that there's a rift between Wally and Printers. So what's the feelings between Printers and our O.C. ?

                    I wish he came to Edmonton, but then we would have to get rid of Ray. Printers gives us a mobile QB who can run. This is something we lacked for years.

                        JC was on the other side of the rift from the CP camp, and was one of the main reasons CP wasn't excited about a return to BC in his option year. JC was big on DD and often didn't include CP in QB meetings in the 05 season.

                        More interestingly was the snub on CP's verbal commitment to Montreal. If I was him, I would have enjoyed playing in Montreal with the potential of success vs the long road that Hamilton has in front of it.

                          Can't fault a guy for looking for the best deal possible, but when it seems like it was his only motivation......

                            True, but had he really thought this through, I think that long term TO is a much better market for him to make coin outside of football and if you have seen his personal website, you know he wants that spotlight. As long as the money was similar, CP would have been wise to spend his three year contract in TO, as they also have a few receivers to throw the ball to.

                              I hate Toronto. They always seems to be able to lure free agents away from signing in Edmonton. I guess not having Avery was maybe good after all though.
