    Great article on Ed Hervey...

    John MacKinnon, The Edmonton Journal

    Published: Wednesday, July 16

Not so long ago, as his eight-year stint as a deep-threat wide receiver with the Eskimos wound down, Ed Hervey yearned to rev up an 18-wheeler and steer into a second act as an independent truck driver.

Hervey definitely knew he didn't want an office job, knew also that he wanted to set his own agenda as much as hard reality ever permits such a thing.

But before that plan got up to speed, Hervey was rolling down an unexpected route with the Eskimos -- one aimed towards senior football management, somewhere down the road. And perhaps not so far towards the horizon, either.

I don't know if Herv is responsible, but our recruiting this year has vastly improved.

Ed is a unique guy, highly intelligent and does things with a passion. I'm proud to call him a friend. I honestly can envison him one day running this organization.
I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

I like the way that the Esks are starting to get old players involved to keep that tradition. Look at how it works for the Red Wings.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

After hearing Ed do a radio interview a couple of weeks ago I can certainly understand your high opinion of him. Don't think I have ever heard a more impressive player or mgt. interview regarding the Esks.
With Ed. on board I think the future looks a lot brighter for us.

very interesting interview.....of course if he wanted to be a trucker he would have had to have a lobotomy to pass the IQ test.....
