-who's this new guy? He wears 39, I've never seen him make a play this season but he made a few last night. He got involved in run stopping, and as a spy Augie covered the field sideline to sideline (only watched first 3 quarters, not sure how the 4th Q went)....I was shocked. Hopefully he can keep it up next week.
-McCarty had a great game. He's always a good blocker, but he was breaking tackles and had the real extra effort, we need more guys making efforts like that.
-I've been defending Brock Ralph, saying that he has been open and we just haven't been throwing to him. Well, I see why...make a play on the ball every once in a while Brock, sometimes you gotta get your hands dirty or take a hit.
-Ray didn't have the percentage he usually does, but this is the downside to his new philosophy. We took shots deep and that gets a QB out of his rhythm, hence a few overthrows on easy passes. I'm not worried, he still took us down the field a few times and played well despite.
-Gotta hand it to Bradley. I don't like the hit on Tucker, but that stuff happens in football, Tucker ducked and took a bad hit to the head. I really hope all that stuff is precautionary and that Tucker won't miss a game. Regardless, Bradley covered him well the whole game.
-Dline was great.Guillory stepped right in and performed better than Perry IMO. Everybody played well though, Murphy was trying some swim moves and more stuff to try and get away from his blocker, Davis continues to play great, and even Clutts was making plays. I'm really starting to like Clutts. He plays special teams, DE, LB, and does well at all of them.
-We played a poor group of receivers, but we played better, and a confidence boost is good to help the secondary to gel. He play some great receivers the next couple weeks, so they'll have to get better.
-Oline played good, not great. Armstrong is a real keeper, and they had a few breakdowns, but nothing serious and from the sounds of it they opened some nice run lanes in the 4th. (Wish I would have PVR'd it)
-I really don't think DM is calling the plays on offense. Sure, we still have very little run game, and the same type of run plays. But the offense just has a new feel to it. The players have the same emotion and tendencies because of being in the Maciocia offense for the last few seasons, but it's starting to change....it's not just because we won, I felt it as well during our losses.
-Defense: how cow! a DB blitz! We blitzed a lot during the game, and it worked, let's see some more of that next week.
