I think Edmonton comes out and runs the ball early. Got to keep it out of Calvillo's hands and the best way to do that is win the time of possession stat. I predict a 10 point victory for the Eskies...

Calvillo is the master of the 2-steps-and-throw, and his receivers are in synch with him. We need DBs who can bump and run, and disrupt that timing, and we'll have a better chance at doing a sack dance.Originally posted by stamphater View PostMe too but Montreal has given a grande total of one sack so far this year...#PizStrong

Yeah, my worry is that the Eskimos secondary has been playing way off their man all season long. They certainly need to play physical and get a solid rush from their front 4.Originally posted by 56Parkies View PostCalvillo is the master of the 2-steps-and-throw, and his receivers are in synch with him. I would think that a man-to-man defence rather than zone would make sacks a little more likely against Calvillo...though I hate to say I'm not sure what type of defence we've been playing more of this year (this is only the 2nd game of the season I've been able to watch on TV
)...
Go Eskies!

Re: GDT: Montreal Alouettes @ Edmonton Eskimos
Montreal is a hard defense to get after. Hopefully with Malveaux and Lenny at the half spot we will get some physicality against their slot backs. This game is all on the secondary stopping Calvillo. We have to play disciplined to the zones, but still lock in and wrap up tackles. I predict Montreal getting a lot of outs and mid-level posts, and Richardson beating Malveaux over the top some time tonight.
I predict we will come out running but will be stopped. Our offensive success will likely depend on us sticking to the run game even when Montreal has the lead.
Getting an early lead would be a huge plus, the game might depend on it...unfortunately, I think we play from behind early, make a game out of it, but ultimately come up short...here's hoping I'm wrong.

We run we win what is so difficult to understand.
