What is Richie Hall's fate now?

So, Richie Hall has an 11 - 16 record in 1.5 years as a head coach of the Esks, for a .407 win percentage. Fans have wanted coaches crucified in a public place with better records than this. I mean DM's win % as HC was .465 for crying out loud. And things are getting much, much worse, not better, at an exponentially fast pace. He clearly isn't head coaching material, and he clearly doesn't have a future in Edmonton. I'm just curious as to how long people think he has?

I know the argument that he is HC and DC, and that we would not be able to replace him at mid season. Well, we're doing a General Manager by committee? Why not HC and DC by committee? It can't get any worse. As for the short week, that may be the perfect time. It's not like you can really prepare anything, or change your game plan during a short week against the same opponent. So, perhaps the shock value of losing their "players coach" that they love so much, will get us a win or 2, or at least a couple of respectable losses, that we otherwise wouldn't get.

Fire him tonight. The shock value may help us.

Wait until the off season, and let the new GM fire him, when he has a replacement lined up.

His fate was sealed when DM was fired.
Maciocia, Hall, Strasser, Hairston and Thorpe are finally all gone. The rest will take care of itself.

Good luck Kavis Reed and the rest of the Esks' new coaching staff!

After today, how can he possibly stay? The Eskimos were beyond flat. They weren't ready to play at all. I've never seen a professional football team so badly prepared as the Eskimos were to play Calgary the last two games. That ultimately falls on the HC for responsibility. If there's no one who can take over for the interim & finish the season that just speaks volumes for just how bad a coaching staff he has right now.
Men, we got them right where we want them.

So let's say the Esks fire him tomorrow morning. Who do they hire to replace him? And are the Esks willing to pay both DM and Richie Hall for services not rendered. Not including the HC they hire tomorrow afternoon who is almost surely to be let go when the new GM decides he wants his own guy in place.
Logistically and financially, it doesn't make any sense to fire Hall right now. Maybe it does from a football point of view, but that's only one part of the equation. Hall is here until season's end.
These pretzels are making me thirsty.

You know what. I would have said keep him to the end of the season but this team has shown NO heart under his guidance as a head coach. NONE. That's partly the players fault and that's on the coaching staff as well.
Why the hell did we hire this guy after he's been passed over by NUMEROUS teams AND by the team he was working for the past 10+ seasons? Saskatchewan obviously saw that he wasn't head coaching material yet he's good enough to be the HC in Edmonton?
I never got the hiring from day one but I was willing to give him a shot.
He's gotta go and he's gotta go now.

Whoever is designated the assistant head coach (Thorpe?). can be the interim HC until year's end (Bellefeuille in Hamilton was that for half a season after Taafe got canned). Couldn't get any worse and probably won't get better, but solves the problem of needing to hire someone who isn't available and likely to be fired anyway, and a statement is made that this football result isn't acceptable for a pro sports franchise.

I knew I should have been suspicious when Danny Maciocia was so quick to heap praise on the guy. I never bought the hiring either, but, same and you, was willing to give him a chance. He's had more than enough chances.

Forget it burn him now. See what Thorpe can do with these guys. I guess he is the next down the line. If he fails burn him to. The season is gone if loins and bombers win a few. Make the rest of the this season an open audition. If they win great.
Whoever is the GM next year is watching and the more he sees the garbage we have now the sooner he can bounce them when he is hired.
That game was hard to watch and i hope the effort is better on friday night.

Who says we need a replacement? We fired DM without a replacement, and fans cheered for the "GM by committee" idea, at least until the off season. I don't think you'd need to add a coaching contract at all. Move Noel Thorpe, who is currently the Assistant Head Coach anyways, into full time HC duties. Then have a "DC by committee" approach. The defensive coaches, such as Mark Nelson, Mike Walker, Stacey Hairston, etc, could all coordinate the defense by committee.

Would we be better coached than we are now? Likely not. But it is virtually impossible to be coached and prepared WORSE than we are now. We may not win another game with Hall as HC. So let's see if the shock value of this player popular coach getting **** canned creates enough of a shock wave through the dressing room that we sneak out a couple of victories on pure shock value alone, that we otherwise may not have had.

I change my vote. Don't bring him bach next year. Fire him in the off season or find a place for him in the organization in some capacity.

1 of them was Childress, and I'm not sure about the other 3. So take those 4 votes with a grain of salt.

Exactly. Whoever they get as the new GM is going to want his own coach.
If the fire Hall, they need to find a replacement HC and DC. Biggest factor, anyone decent or qualified are most likely working right now. Unfortunately, the Esks are stuck until the end of the season.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

If he was the hc he says he is and accepts responsibilities. Then he should fall on his own sword any how...
