Re: Eskimos move Hill to safety in leadership play
TJ was more vocal today than I've ever seen him...was impressed.
I certainly think that he's the best option for the position if they're looking for veteran leadership etc.
Notwithstanding the fact that I very much disagree with their forced switch to an import when we had two promising young NI safeties and cut them both...if I had to pick a guy to put in there, would rather have Hill than a rookie there, for sure.
We do lose a good cover LB and that position will probably see a downgrade...but Will Harris looked pretty good today as well, so if he can step up (as he's had nearly a year here already), that will help there.
I still don't like the overall redistribution of resources...but TJ Hill at I safety is much better than some of the alternatives. We're cheering Fight Fight Fight On Eskimos...

What did you think of Robbie Vaughn and Pittman?
I heard Reid was right in there with Williams for 1 and 2 on the line, is it possible that both Laurent and Reid could start (starting 3 NI's would be an amazing thing for the busting the ratio)? Was Curry mobile do you think he can play on the outside?
Thanks

Re: Eskimos move Hill to safety in leadership play
Honestly, like I said in the other thread, didn't notice either Vaughn or Pittman standing out one way or the other. Same for the DL. The DL especially was taken aside over to one corner for mobility/their own drills for much of the practice...so I didn't watch them all that much.Originally posted by Red Dog View PostAppreciate your tc observations,

In the RB drills, I'd certainly give the edge to the OL overall...but there were a couple plays where the DL stood the guy up (usually Fils, it seemed) and held him to nothing or very little. (The contact was first-day wrap-up sort of thing, just shoulder pads and helmets...so no one really was very intense). We're cheering Fight Fight Fight On Eskimos...

So did I...Originally posted by Opus View Post"we made a decision not to have Saleem here".

I expected better out of Kavis.I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

No kidding. I really thought this guy was as respectable and stand up as they come. Turns out he's simply Tillman's lap dog.Originally posted by Opus View Post"we made a decision not to have Saleem here".

Re: Eskimos move Hill to safety in leadership play
Re Hill, this sounds to me like the Shabbazz move a few years back. Take a guy who is playing all star caliber at LB and then move him to safety.
One has to wonder why the failed medical bit rather than just cutting players. If they are trying to 'lessen the blow' of getting rid of players by saying they failed a medical it has certainly backfired.
In any case no move they make from here on in should come as a surprise they are assembling exactly the kind of team they want and will be judged on the W-L record.

I agree, I think that they know that they must produce results in the form of W's.Originally posted by Beerfish View PostRe Hill, this sounds to me like the Shabbazz move a few years back. Take a guy who is playing all star caliber at LB and then move him to safety.

Re: Eskimos move Hill to safety in leadership play
Maybe Saleem came too camp a little out of shape for all we know...That would explain Reed's quote. They made a decision based on the results of the medical that he wasn't fit to stay around. I don't think Reed is trying to twist or spin anything or screw anybody here...Originally posted by Opus View Post"we made a decision not to have Saleem here".

I've heard plenty around here already excusing this season, saying it will be a work in progress. Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

Except that everything that just happened proves the exact opposite.Originally posted by ben_the_eskimo View PostMaybe Saleem came too camp a little out of shape for all we know...That would explain Reed's quote.
