Re: ESKS sign veteran lineman, cliff washburn
Odd signing in a lot of ways, and I'd venture it's unrelated to Hinse, as Washburn's a tackle (reps at RT today). He doesn't have the kind of resume that screams practice roster, but I also can't see the Esks utilizing two import on the active roster either. At 31, he's also not really a future prospect like the soon-to-turn 24 Zipp Duncan.
With Wojt and high profile FA signing, Brian Ramsay, able to play RT, I'm not sure what purpose this signing has when we've got to cut down from 75 to 68 tonight.Life is Good.

ET traded for Washburn in Sask already, so this is more of the old guard...that's what purpose it has.Originally posted by GreatWhiteNorth View PostOdd signing in a lot of ways, and I'd venture it's unrelated to Hinse, as Washburn's a tackle (reps at RT today). Re: ESKS sign veteran lineman, cliff washburn
From what I've heard in interviews it sounds like they really want to start two imports on the o line. They really want to make protecting RR a high priority this year and they seem to think that starting two imports on the o line is just the ticket.“RUN THE DANG BALL!" -Leigh Anne Tuohy character from the film The Blind Side
"Next time, take a case of Pil into the huddle. If you don't get a beer, get the hell off the field!" -New special teams coach for the Riders
"When the Eskimos are out on defense it looks like there are two or three number 47s out there." -Duane Ford
"...I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, I enjoy the banter though
..." -Looner

Re: ESKS sign veteran lineman, cliff washburn
To me this appears like a change in direction based on what they have seen in camp so far
it suggests perhaps that your CDN receivers are out performing expectations and you are able to start 2 cdn's in your 5 pack
or it suggests Lopez is outperforming and they think they do not need an extra import LB in a backup position
or it just suggests your CDN OT's look very bad
either way its about playing imports in the positions that they will make the biggest impact

how about you decide - you piss on me if I say ours you piss on me if I say yours - how about you make up your own mind and then let me post one way or the other without having to justify what pro noun I useOriginally posted by Esks4ever View Postyour? I thought the Esks where your 2nd favorite team. I thought you'd use terms like "ours" or "the Esks"
on topic I see that Fiacconi and Hinse are both down - so this may be simply necessitated by injury - see how clever I was I used neither "you" nor "us" but maybe you guys can make this a poll question - and get back to meLast edited by Rotor; 06-08-2011, 09:57 AM.

Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.
