I watched DA extra closely on Saturday and also watched some old film from the previous 2 games and I don't get why he's highly criticized by some here. He's been solid back there for us time in time out. Just wondering what others see in him that's so negative.

Re: Alexander
He's far less of a liability at safety than he was at corner, where he was penciled in to begin with.Originally posted by Andrew View PostI watched DA extra closely on Saturday and also watched some old film from the previous 2 games and I don't get why he's highly criticized by some here. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

Re: Alexander
Exactly. The reason he was criticized before? He was picked on and got burned every game I watched him play corner for the Riders. The Esks turfed most of our NI safeties because they seemed determined to play an Import there and then we have a NI at the spot and Hill back where he belongs.Originally posted by Opus View PostHe's far less of a liability at safety than he was at corner, where he was penciled in to begin with.

Re: Alexander
Wonder if that would put us in a precarious position if DA were to get hurt during a game. Who would his backup be? Is it a NI? If not then how would they rearrange things vis-a-vis the ratio?Originally posted by Beerfish View PostExactly. The reason he was criticized before? Re: Alexander
You can have Richardson back please, the guy is just way too slow from what i have seen at practice - take him back please. Also, isn't Borhot (sp) teamless?Originally posted by adb View PostWonder if that would put us in a precarious position if DA were to get hurt during a game. Who would his backup be? Is it a NI? Re: Alexander
Well if speed is your concern then perhaps you guys should be giving borhot a look...seriously...from what I recall he's suppossed to have pretty good speed although he has been a bit brittle. Wonder if ER would be big enough to play in the LB corp with you guys? He seemed to be a great hitter and smart enough but speed seems to definitely be an issue with him.Originally posted by GreenNHung View PostYou can have Richardson back please, the guy is just way too slow from what i have seen at practice - take him back please. Re: Alexander
That is the only unit that is playing well for us, no way he cracks our lb core. Even as bad as we are right now, ER is not good enough to start, ST player at best.Originally posted by adb View PostWell if speed is your concern then perhaps you guys should be giving borhot a look...seriously...from what I recall he's suppossed to have pretty good speed although he has been a bit brittle. Re: Alexander
I would expect they would try Hugo Lopez there. He is a natural shutdown corner but if he is still around I am sure Stubler likes him enough to try him.Originally posted by adb View PostWonder if that would put us in a precarious position if DA were to get hurt during a game. Re: Alexander
It's all going to depend on the timing and what else is going on with the roster at the time I suspect. Hill could drop back to safety, but with Davis out, and the current lack of roster depth at LB, that's unlikely right now. Delroy Clarke is a guy that Stubler is familiar with and might be a little ahead of Lopez in terms of development at this point, so he'd likely be the natural one to watch for. With Cornell starting at LB (and playing well I might add) it's also possible to see Pittman back at Safety, presuming that he's not being dressed as a Designated Import. With the way that they're using Pittman on blitzes, I think they could be looking at him for some SAM potential at some point, or at least, like Hill, as a guy that offers some flexibility that way.Originally posted by adb View PostWonder if that would put us in a precarious position if DA were to get hurt during a game.
