Depth chart on esks.com shows import ol coston starting at left guard, with Ramsay demoted to backup. With washburn also starting at left tackle that leaves us with two imports on the line. Also James starting at sb, and Henry back to wr.

Re: Depth chart vs Montreal... Coston starting
Frankly, I have been unimpressed with Washburn's play at LT the last two games, and he's still drawing in there.
Contrary to the OP, Ramsay is still starting at RT...it is Wojt who is moved to back up at RT with Mongo coming over to the RG spot. Koch will back up Mongo, while Wojt backs up Ramsay. Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

According to the game notes, the only two changes to the starting OL so far this year came after game 2, when Washburn replaced Coston at LT and Ramsay replaced Koch at LG.Originally posted by Opus View PostFrankly, I have been unimpressed with Washburn's play at LT the last two games, and he's still drawing in there.

Odd how that came after the best rushing performance of the season
.
I'm not 100% sold on Washburn either...I don't watch the line to any great degree, but he doesn't seem to be much (if any) of an improvement over Parquet.

Protection for Ricky Ray was a pressing issue last week and the Edmonton O-line has been shuffled as a result. Rookie Junius Coston draws back in at left guard, Patrick Kabongo shifts to the right guard spot while Greg Wojt will start at right tackle. After throwing just one INT in the first five games, Ray tossed a pair of picks to the BombersRun the Ball up the gut around the horn it does not matter. We run we win what is so difficult to understand.

I would not be surprised Ramsay has been a major bust at RT Washburn has been ok. Mongo and Wojt and Fiacconi have done decent at plugging up the middle.Originally posted by Opus View PostDepth chart says otherwise (which is what I was going off of) in regards to the RT spot....

Worth noting he opposition he (and they) have been facing when grading out their play. I agree that Washburn hasn't been great, but up against the likes of Toronto and Winnipeg's D-Line, it's a stiff test.Originally posted by Opus View PostFrankly, I have been unimpressed with Washburn's play at LT the last two games, and he's still drawing in there.

I think it's too soon to label him a bust. While his play needs to be better, this is a guy that missed some of camp and the first few weeks of the regular season with an injury and is new to the scheme and unit. It's understandable that there will be some growing pains and adjustments as they develop chemistry.Originally posted by danlaurin View PostI would not be surprised Ramsay has been a major bust at RT Washburn has been ok. Neither of these two points is to dismiss the need for far better protection, both from the OL and from the offence as a whole. The inability to establish an effective running game last week and the loss of a good blocking SB like Bowman were very evident and contributed to the problems. I'm glad to see we aren't standing pat and I actually like the usage of Coston (a reversal from my previous position on two import OL), but I'm not at the point of starting to crap on guys.Life is Good.

Re: Depth chart vs Montreal... Coston starting
Fair Post GWN... I would be inclined to agree with the Ol spots.... two of the tougher defenses back to back and seeing the OC play calling go for sh** I think Washburn and Ramsey may well prove to be servicable. What I AM NOT a big fan off is the timid/conservative play calling that CONTINUES to run between the tackles almost exclusively!!!!!Why we don't expose the edge with Porters speed/elusiveness continues to freaking bewilder me.... to say nothing of using CMacs sure hands on dumps, screens and misdirection with Messam. I think given the CONSISTENT opportunity to fire off the line and smack somebody in the mouth that our oline could make a long day for some folks. Seems more a case of scheme right now rather than personnel......Originally posted by GreatWhiteNorth View PostWorth noting he opposition he (and they) have been facing when grading out their play. Re: Depth chart vs Montreal... Coston starting
The change of Wojt this year to G was a bit of a puzzler to me. At RT last year to seemed to have the mobility to match the DE's first move and keep contact with that player. I thought he did an outstanding job providing pass protection towards the end of last year.
