SNS Jyles is a capable QB and in my opinion will surprise a lot of naysayers. We also have Nichols and Masoli who are the future of the franchise.

If we also get Grant Shaw who produces for the next 10+ years as a Cdn kicker doing all 3 jobs and Chambers starring here we could end up winning the trade.

I'll have a double of what ever you had while posting this. There is no way that Jyles is any where near Ray in terms of a QB.

Wow, that's a lot of ifs. I don't think you can replace RR and it may take 10 years of perspective to tell whether it was a good trade, but having said that I wasn't that upset with the trade. I thought he'd done all he could here and a change of scenery would do him good. From a personal standpoint I was getting tired of yelling, "Throw it Ricky, throw it Ricky, throw it R..., oh c*!@p".

True this is a possibility for sure, although we picked Chambers with our 6th overall pick which was ours regardless of the Ray trade. We received the 2nd pick overall in exchange for Ray which we used to trade for the 4th, 14th, and 38th picks from BC. So technically we ended up with Paztor, Capicciotti, and King thanks to that pick.

So I guess my question is, is it safe to consider this trade as Ray for Jyles, Shaw, Paztor, Capicciotti, and King moving forward?

Still a top 3 if not 2 qb for a lot of unproven NI talent? Probably could have swung a depth wr for those late round picks and still had a qb.

Oh I wasn't saying I liked the trade....just that I am judging the trade as a whole not just Jyles and Shaw.

We also gave up the 20th pick in the trade with BC. So I'd knock Capicciotti (or King, depending on what angle you want to take) off that list.

I never said he was as good as Ray. I just said he is a good QB and we can in my opinion be successful with him at the helm of the Eskimo ship.

Ah right, thats a good point.

Maybe I'll wait and see who performs better before I choose which one to exclude from the trade

What motivates Schiavone? He's been hiding in the shadows collecting a paycheck for 3-4 years. What other player gets away with that?

If he can't step up now, give it to someone else.
