fleming had a pretty good game...i liked how on the punts all our guys were down the field and pinned stokes within the 5 yard line

congrats to Wad though on tieing Cutler its the sign of not only an awesome kicker, but a team player too, who sticks with the team.

It was great to see the cover team force Stokes into losing yards on a few occassions. They did a great job

All I have to say is that the bombers are lucky that Ryan was BOOMING punts or we would have had awesome field position all night and it would be in the 40-45 point range instead of 27.

well that was an ugly win all around

ill start positive cause i lots of negatives

1. the front 7 played well and was able to generate pressure at times, was also fairly good against the run except for a couple shifts moves by roberts (but he can do that to some good players)

2. DBs played fairly well, especially sanchez who had a very good game

3. ray was throwing the underneath and shorter passes quite well

now the negatives

1. our oline, our oline, our oline..... it was terrible at opening up holes for the running game (ie. there were no holes) and was not very good at protecting ray (but that can be somewhat forgiven against a very tough front 4 of winnipeg)

2. penalties.... was a terrible game for esks taking stupid penalties... we can't continue to do that

3. dropped passes.... there was about 5 dropped passes in the 1st half alone tonight.... we need to make those catches to keep drives alive

4. ray was VERY inaccurate with his long ball as he wasnt putting enough air under it... he was also overthrowing the intermediate routes quite a bit as well.... for a guy who had close to 500 yards passing i thought he was only average today

5. our running game was very bad, other than the one run from bradley... this needs to improve and fast, or we arent going anywhere this season

6. our return game is non-existant

all in all, it was a very sloppy game and if we play anywhere close to this badly next week we are gonna get our asses handed to us on a silver platter

Another thing I forgot to add to my original list was that Tompkins impressed me a little more than Craver did against Ottawa. I don't know how Ottawa's ST coverage team compares with that of Winnipeg, but if the two are fairly equal, I would suggest using Tompkins again against Montreal. Also, I would keep Bradley back there to split the duties with Tompkins.

And oh, Sean Fleming played terrific as well, with impressive punts against the wind. Congrats on tying Cutler, Wad!

Ray did make some overthrows in his intermediate to long routes, but as you said, the dropped balls and poor O-line protection also played a part his somewhat lower completion percentage. If, as a QB, your O-line does not give you enough time, then your throws are rushed, and with the Winnipeg wind factoring in, you're bound to miss more often than usual. I wouldn't say that he overthrew his receivers by a substantial margin in more than maybe one or two cases, however.

-RR was decent (for him), not great, but good . His receivers didn't help him out much in some cases, though, lot of dropped passes. The wind made it kinda hard to throw deeper stuff, so that's not a concern.

-OL was okay...Kabongo is still coming along. WPG's front four was a good test for them. Still needs improvement, having the starters back will help.

-RB - Bradley had the one great run , other than that he was avg. Don't know what happens next game maybe Goldie will come in.

-Tucker was great 105 yds, team record.

-Hervey was pretty good, but he dropped two in a row not like him.

-Mookie was pretty solid as usual.

-Kelley got a catch! 17 yds. Good play.

-Fleming was solid.

-DL was great. 4 more sacks. We must be getting an awful lot of food for Purolator.

-LB's were good Mobes with 2 sacks, way to go!

-DB's were solid. Sanchez played well.

-Great ST coverage Stokes had negative yds on about 4 returns.

-Way too many penalties .

All in all, an ok game wasn't that pretty, but it worked and we broke the 6-year losing streak.

Yeah, I was kinda ticked at that after seeing the replay too ...but it really didn't affect the outcome much, so whatever.
