Fire away on me after this is you wish. I'm prepared.

Alot of us (myself the worst) complained about Tom Higgins last year. He was a nice fellow, but not a great coach. I still stand by that. However, did we really upgrade at all with DM/RDL/D-Committee coaching staff?

I think not.

Penalties that kill you. Turnovers galore. Perplexing playcalling. Lack of intensity. Yet loads of talent.

It all points to inadequate prep and coaching.

I know we're only 1/2 way thru the regfular season. But the Eskimos are only firing on half of their cylinders let alone all of them.

IMO, the Eskimos problems are 90% coaching.

I don't think you're very far off, but I guess 5-3 is better than 3-5.

What would our record be of we had started off playing BC 2x and Toronto 2x instead of Ottawa 2x and Wpg 2x? And both Ottawa and Wpg have improved considerably since we played them.

Personally I think our D is fine.. they played well and only really got hosed on 3 plays... Offence on the other hand.....

I mostly agree with that. But they gave up 3 HUGE plays last night. Not good.

What would our record be of we had started off playing BC 2x and Toronto 2x instead of Ottawa 2x and Wpg 2x? And both Ottawa and Wpg have improved considerably since we played them.

Completely hypothetical. It's probably better not to think about it that way.

I agree that that is not good.. but on the flip side they killed TO for almosty all other plays then those 3..

When people say they don't like the playcalling, do you mean you simply don't like the fact that few runs are called, or do you mean the type of pass plays that are called?

Personally I don't think anyone here is "right" versus "Wrong". We all have our opinions, but not everyone will agree with it. How you phrase your opinions will go a long way to how other people respect it, of course.. not a shot, just an observation..

We are 5-3 vs being 0-3 and i think 3-5 last year. Coaching is as much to blame as other areas but not more to blame. The players have to be accountable, that includes taking penalties.

Could the coaching staff have made a better effort to stop Baker on that 9 yard play? No, don't blame them that the defense got lax.

Did Macioica cough up the ball or did Maurer?

Did Maciocia throw the ball right to the toronto defender?

Did Rick Campbell drop the easiest interception of all time right in his mitts?

It's up to the coaches to come up with a game plan, do their best to put the right people on the field. Although I don't like some of the stuff we have showed game plan wise it all comes down to the players, thwy simply have to play better.
