Re: Am I Right or Wrong? You Decide

WOW!! It is refreshing to see someone else suggest that the players take some responsibility for their actions instead of always blaming the coaches. I got roasted a fair bit for that stance last year and I feel the same way that you do...that the players need take responsibility for what happens on the field.

I noticed Mobley yelling at the D on the bench last game..

Watching the game Saturday night, I saw Ray make a lot of 'good decisions' so I do not believe there is a problem with that. You don't really believe your last statement that teams have somehow 'figured him out'...do you?? I remember how a story like this started in 2003 when Matthews 'supposedly' saw something on tape that suggested that Ricky was tipping the kind of play once he got to the line of scrimmage. His performance in the Grey Cup that year should have put an end to such 'fish stories', but apparently they have not...

To me it was never about what I accomplished on the football field, it was about the way I played the game.

no, this has nothing to do with those old stories. But I now realize how what I said could be construed to mean that!

RR is a damn fine QB and he'll figure things out more often than not. That said, I believe that the better defences in the league are more adept at understanding RR's tendancies. RR is no longer an unknown factor.

Remember that this all started with me stating that play-calling is only a part of the whole situation. QB reads and player execution are part of the picture too! And that's where this comes into play. In other words... don't take that one statement out on it's own.

Just for the record, the Argo's took more penalties for more yards than the Esks did. They tried half the runs for less than half the yards than the Esks did. They got less yards passing, way less attempts. According to the "problems" stated here, they did worse than the Esks. I think the key to our loss was in the turnovers, and the bad decision by TNT but I'm not even willing to cast blame on those.

Tough loss. It's over. Move on.
I officially retract my vote for DDS as Prime Minister. He's clearly incompetent.

              What if the present sucks?

                      Sorry...

At the beginning of the season, the Eskimos biggest problems were on the O-Line and at RB. Fast forward to week nine and while those problems remain, you can add a plethora of new ones to the list (penalties, bad execution, missed assignments). What I am most concerned at this point is that this team is now finding ways to lose games and it is not the same things each week...it varies.

                        np!

well that's it isn't it... The alchemy required to turn a team of lead into a team of gold isn't as simple as just saying 'it's this!' If it was that easy then we'd all be supreme experts!

Every time the Esks get into red zone territory, I worry about them self-imploding. We seem to either get a bad penalty, interception, fumble or a missed field goal.

This is one aspect they need more concentration and creativity to work on because lost points always come back to haunt you.
If we were put on this earth to help others, what were the others put on earth for?

I'm still struggling with "self-imploding"... To implode is for something to collapse in on itself... so... would self-implode be like the double negative? and would that mean explode? or if it simply negates the implosion then would the resting state be 'plode'?

wow... something is coming back to haunt me, that's for sure...
