Oilers should have signed him at the start of the season.

The Oilers won't overpay him as they now won't be able to pay him. I agree, Smyth won, Oilers lost.

The EIG sat on their hands this year.

      Lowe should have traded him.

That's why I said they should have traded him weeks ago. The writing was on the wall then.

TSN reports Smyth traded to the Islanders.

          Waiting to comfirm.

TSN has talked about a rumour that Smyth was traded to the Islanders??

Just heard that...interesting. Get Jason Blake in return at least.

Sportsnet (Eklund) actually broke it 1st... it includes the Isles' 1st rounder.

According to Snet, Blake was not part of it.

This had BETTER not be true.

Screw Smyth and his agent if this is true.

                        This looks to be true.

Wow, the optics, if this is true, are 'challenging' to say the least.

Yup, TSN sounds pretty sure this is a done deal.

Hey, can't overpay the guy long term and you can't let him go for nothing. This is the only play.

This better not be Pronger deal mark II.

Robert Nilson, 1st rounder and Ryan O'Meara for Smyth
