    RUMOUR - Doan to be moved by Game 40, Phoenix has interest in Edm Deal

    - Expects Doan to be moved by Game 40.
    - A PHOENIX source said they have interest in Oiler players.
    - Deal he heard from Phoenix side was Pitkanen, Moreau and Schremp... then he said it'd be a ridiculous overpay, so there's no way it'd happen.

    Few points here from me...

    #1) That is one of the grossest trade ideas I've ever heard of, though I do think if we pulled a deal with Phoenix, Schremp is going the other way... there's been lots of smoke there for a few years.

    #2) Shane Doan? Ugh... he's not that good. People here bitch about Ryan Smyth, I don't even know what they'd say about Shane Doan. Certainly a good guy in the room, and he can contribute, but he's mediocre defensively, slightly above average offensively, 30 years old (read: declining), and signed at 4.455 for another 4 years. I don't know if I'd want him here for Schremp straight up.

    I like Doan.....I would have no problem giving up Schremp, and one other forward....maybe Torres or Reasoner...but no more than that

        Numberz, I think the cost for Doan would be in the area of:

        Stoll or Gagner
        Greene or Smid or Gilbert
        Schremp

        ... and personally, I think that's way too much to give up for Shane Doan.

          I'd give up Stoll, Greene, and Schremp....I consider Greene and Schremp to be dead-weights anyway.....

            I dont see us trading any of our youngun's for the likes of Doan. Ya Schremp hasn't been anything .. yet. he is still young and could bloom into something.. and Doan is old and on the way down.. IMO Doan isn't even worth Schremp.

            I'd rather our team be average or worse with the kids in.. at least they'll get the playing time and the time to develop...

            Now if a bigger name player was to come availble then i'd be willing to move some of the younguns...

              We have a lot of young guys with potential...we need a big name guy who has experience.

                Doan here would make us a pretty sizable team to play against with him and Penner
                I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

                  I'd have zero qualms moving Schremp or Greene (in fact, I'd love to throw Nilsson into a deal with the 3 of them and see if we can get a real NHL player, preferably a RW or a D)...

                  But that package certainly has value, and if we're moving that much, I'd like to bring home a lot more than Shane Doan.

                    Ya, I'm sure if we threw in 3 players that we could get a draft pick, or a prospect, or a 3rd/4th liner

                      I liked what Doan has done when representing his country at tournaments. I'd give up a Moreau or a Reasoner.

                        Doan is a good player, but some of these rumours are ridiculous.

                        I'd give up Torres and Smid/Gilbert/Greene.

                        I'd love to see him with the Oilers but Doan is not elite the way some make him out to be.

                            Doan is an excellent player, i like him alot.

                            That trade would be pure lunacy. I've heard twice now about Pitkanen being involved in trade talks. If he gets dealt I'll officially sign up for the fire Lowe (four years from now) organization.

                              I would love Doan here as long as it does not cost us Moreau.
                              Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.
