    Rumour: Oilers offer Kotalik Contract

    Apparently smaller than expected, and he's mulling over multiple options.

    This is from a Czech poster at HFBoards, saying he heard it on the radio there.

    So, certainly just a rumour, but it fits with the Tambs quotes as well.

    Based on what I saw of the guy last season, I'd be glad to have him back.

        If you could dump Nilson for pretty much anything, ship him to the minors, whatever. I would't have a problem giving him Nilson money. Around 2 mill is fair.
        Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

            I'm hoping it works. Him and Hemsky showed they have chemistry. Still think it will be tough to sign him for less than three mil.

            On unrelated news, Jiri Hudler signed with a team in the KHL. Big, big loss for the Wings.

                Bingo.

                I like that the offer is less than he expected. As we've learned first hand... it's hard to have a real "cap killer" contract. It's the nickel and diming process that kills ya. I'd argue, including Nilsson and Penner, there's not a single contract on this team where the guy is being paid more cap hit wise than $1,000,000 per season than he should be.

                The problem is there's 7 or 8 guys who are being paid $500k-$1000k too much. Adds up in a hurry.

                Though at least we don't have Nylander.

                      He's a legit 1 line option, and would help the PP.

                      Might be one of the most underrated players in the league because of his nationality and a few bad years in CBJ.

                          IIRC, Dubinsky was the sticking point on any deal with the Sens... the Rangers just weren't willing to part with him.

                              Yup, but he's an RFA, and he's up against the cap.

                              If feelings with Cogliano are soured a bit, I think you can get Slats interest in a hurry. It's one thing dealing Dubinsky for a 28 year old, another dealing him for a 22 year old who still has a cheap season left.
