    Oil Change

For those missed this excellent documentary.

    Re: Oil Change

I'd hesitate to use the word documentary.

This is a finely polished product meant to show little to no blemishes about the team. These have made me even sicker of Kevin Lowe than before.

Regardless, it's well done and provides some cool insight to the day-to-day rigors of playing for an NHL team.

    Repeating the past
    A tragic path once more

Making our mark while leaving our stain
Our legacy of arrogance will wither with the day"

I have a book, Future Greats and Heartbreaks, by Gare Joyce, who sat in with the Columbus scouting staff during the period from the 06 draft to the 07 draft. The book was meant to give a perspective into the inner workings of NHL player personnel departments.

Great book, and this program seems to be something similar. I watched it tonight...was interesting enough. Nothing unexpected, really.

        Things I learned:

#1) We offered Bogey insane money.
#2) Why the **** were we brain storming teams that might want Souray on July 1st? The season was over in April... and we're brainstorming it then?
#3) Tom Renney seems to be the smartest man in the room. Constantly.
#4) I can't believe that we almost took Marcincin @ #31.... whoever it was who said it was insane to take him on the basis of him being a defenseman deserves an award.

Andddd I'm pretty sure Roszival was the guy that was offered for Souray.
"This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.

I enjoyed it. Gave a pretty cool inside look at what happens behind the scenes. Gave me more insight as to the direction the Oilers are going through. I wasn't expecting them to sit there in front of the camera and tell us all about the things they screwed up so I am fine with it. I came out of watching it feeling pretty good about the way things are headed and it seems the guys running the ship have a good handle on things finally.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

The video keeps freezing on me. And the sound cuts out.

              A few more notes:

Love Stu Macgregor even more after seeing this.
              Tambellini is a goofball.
Bucky doesn't come off as that smart either (of course).

What the hell does Kevin Lowe do anyway?

That made me realize that I can hardly wait until the new downtown arena is built to open in four years and our young guns are challenging for a title (fingers crossed).

That will happen in 2 years.

                          Thank you for posting this.

I missed it on Wednesday night and really enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes dealings of our hockey team!

I work in civil engineering. 2 years is tight but it could be done IF they already have the building designed. But in reality, it will probably be built in 3 years. 1 year for design and approval, 2 years to build.

So, you're agreeing with me. Two years from now is out of the question.
