In case any of us were worried the Oilers wouldn't get a lottery pick

    http://www.edmontonsun.com/sports/my.../16468296.html

Horcoff lost for up to 2 months with a knee sprain. So with Hemsky down for a month and Horcoff down for 2, this should all but secure a bottom 5 finish.
I saw the play, looked questionable to me. THe fact that it was Perry leads me to thinkit was a cheap shot.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

I agree with your statement Q. Unless Omark can somewhat provide what Hemsky did, and Reddox/O'Marra can win some faceoffs and play a great 2-way game, a top 5 pick is secure.

It's going to be a fine line between losing and losing constructively. Getting blown out isn't constructive but losing a game like last night isn't a bad thing.

I wouldn't be so sure. I remember '08 when the kids took over and damn near led us to a playoff spot. I don't think we get anywhere near a playoff spot but fact is Hemmer is back in early January and Horc in early February. And there are five team in the East who are still below the Oilers. Now if Khabby or Whitney go down...

Remember a month or so ago when Horcoff was out for a couple games and the Oilers got blown out 7-1 and 6-2?

These injuries are just in time for the Oilers annual Christmas dive...I was getting a bit concerned it wouldn't be coming this year.

Fair enough. The Oilers also went on to lose another 4 when he returned. I think it was a team wide slump on not just Horc. But they sure as hell are going to miss him in the FO.

So who is brought up?> My guess will be O'Marra and Reddox and the oilers will continue to piss off Omark

Perhaps Girioux as he is a pure center? Or is he merely a career AHL'er?

Move Brule to centre and bring up Omark. You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one.

                      Omark and O'marra recalled.

I agree. I hope some day you'll join us, and the Oilers will listen.

Yeah, this all but seals it... Oilers lines are just a complete mess any way you do it now. One of 4, 67 or 27 has to move to C.

23 and 85 absolutely should be the callups...

85-16-46 is your new 4th line... and is probably the best 4th line we've had in quite a while.

                            I'd try...

                            27-67-23
                            91-89-28
                            4-13-14

With the hope being that 27 can make 67 and 23 hum (much like he does with 13 and 67), 28 can stay hot (unlikely), and 4 and 14 can somehow make 13 look legit...

                            It's a bloody mess though.

Reddox would not have cleared re-entry waivers on his way up to the Oilers. Unfortunatley, his type of players are in a bit of demand right now, and I am certain he'd be plucked off the list.

Omark was a no-brainer, and O'Marra is the best bet for a decent 2-way, face-off winning player.

                              My lines for Friday:

                              Hall-Gagner-Eberle
                              Penner-Cogliano-Omark
                              Paajarvi-O'Marra-Jones
                              Fraser-Brule-Stortini
