Should have taken the under...Originally posted by adb View PostIf I had to bet on it I believe that both Lander and Hartikainen will both start the year in OKC. It's not based on ability but just because they are able to be sent down without having to clear waivers. I don't think it'll be very long before you see one or both of them back up because of injuries. Where should we place the over/under on for Hemsky and/or Horcoff to wind up injured?...I'm thinking 25 games...It may not be a bad thing going down to the farm since they would probably get a lot of ice time...especially for Lander who is still getting acclimatized to the North American game.“RUN THE DANG BALL!" -Leigh Anne Tuohy character from the film The Blind Side

Re: Hemsky's hurt AGAIN!
This is why the Oilers didn't sign him to a long term contract in the off-season although they probably could have if they had really pushed it.
On the football threads people have repeatedly stated that "the guy has talent but can't stay healthy" so they get cut. Staying healthy is a big part of the challenge. Much the same thing happens with some hockey players.
Say, why was Horcoff #4 in the shootout? Was Andy Sutton not willing?

Re: Hemsky's hurt AGAIN!
I'd say all of this talk is a bit premature personally.
I've had the same surgery Hemsky's had.
... he had it 6 months ago. That's the MINIMUM recovery period. I know that 6 months after mine, I was still 3 months away from playing hockey again. While I'm sure he's gotten better treatment than I did... it's a long recovery process. If it's SORE, they could very easily be taking him out of the game to make sure he doesn't rip anything.
Hopefully, the Oilers are just finally being proactive about this kind of thing. He was CLEARLY the best player on the ice in the first period.
If not, thank god the NHL never once punished Regehr for the 10's of times he crushed Hemsky illegally

Horcoff is over 50% in the SO on over 20 attempts. He's very, very, good at it.Originally posted by moontoscott View PostThis is why the Oilers didn't sign him to a long term contract in the off-season although they probably could have if they had really pushed it.

That said..
Thank god we had Ryan Jones and Darcy Hordichuk in the lineup so Omark could see from the box how not to sore in the shootout while Jones missed an empty net (courtesy a BEAUTIFUL pass from Horcoff) and Hordichuk played all of 3 minutes."This year, we did what we were supposed to do. Said he could only handle half, and was given the back half. My lady complains about that. Not in reference to me thoughOriginally posted by Opus View Poststrained vagina, gone for at least a week for every month.

Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.
