I have watched some of the highlights of the Flames-Wild tilt, and boy, did the Flames clutch, grab, hook and slow down Minnesota alot.. and it was called everytime.. which is great to see from the NHL refs.

The Flames are that type of team, and with these new rules they won't be getting anywhere, great to see. The Oilers are a fast skating, hard working team, that's the ethic alot of teams will need to pick up if they want to go far in the playoffs.

Can't wait until the battle of Alberta!

I love how Calgary fans are now claiming that their team is just as quick as anybody else. That's a riot. IF (BIG if) the refs stick to it, then Calgary will have to have a good pk, otherwise they'll be toast.

With the new guy the NHL brought in for officiating in the head office.. everything he has said implies that the refs will call it the same all year round... ofcourse that's yet to be seen, although I have a feeling they'll call it the same way all year round.

I agree. Winning the first one is nice, but if we lose the other 7 vs COL then it's kinda a moot point.

I've been saying it all along folks. The Flames success was based on their ability to interfere.

The NHL is not stupid. They took note of what occurred in the last playoffs and are now taking steps to ensure that type of travesty doesn't occur anymore. We can thank the Flames for the changes.

I watched the entire Flames game. They even resorted to goon tactics at the end of the second.

I like what I saw on the ice last night, a return of true hockey. When was the last time you’d see a Joe Sakic get two penalties for interference in the same game? Previously that caliber of player was untouchable.

Things don’t get any easier for the Flames. They meet the Blue Jackets next!
