    At the end of the day I know that I will not be chearing for anyone but the Oil.
    And hey, while we are at it.....Isn't it better to piss and moan about watching TO or MTL too much this year, then what we were all pissing and moaning about last year.....

        Every single week, the highest rated Canadian program on TV is the first game on HNIC. The Leafs are on because people watch it. The CBC would be crazy not to try and maximize viewership. More viewers = more revenue. Simple as that.

            What does the CBC care about revenue? It's the government that keeps them afloat....

                    No, but we're not talking regional here either, we're talking national (HNIC is a national broadcast). As far as regional broadcasts go you rarely anymore get National coverage on TSN carried games (all within the Leafs region) and OILER, Flames, and Nucks get regional broadcasts on Sportsnet.....
                    That's sportsnet, a privately owned, WELL run broadcasting company. This is CBC we are talking about here. The "company" that thought piping in the P.A. announcers was a good enough substitute for color commenting when broadcasting football games.
                    Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.
