    Still worried about the Ducks

OK, I know this series is at 3-0, and I know that only two teams have ever came back from that sort of deficit. And I know that the Oilers have the great Rexall crowd behind them tonight, and I know the Oilers have been playing gutsy, gritty hockey, BUT I'm still not ready to start thinking about the finals.
This Ducks team has been for the most part outplaying the Oilers (who let's face it, have not been playing as well this series as they have earlier in the playoffs). They will be taking some measure of confidence into this game knowing they can actually score on Roloson, and let's face it, they have nothing to lose. As far as the media, fans and the players themselves are concerned this series is over. The Ducks will come out playing loose.
The Oilers are going to need to come out tough tonight. Because we all know the Ducks are going to be physical, try to run Roloson every chance they get, and not worry about taking little penalties. The Oilers need to be very good in their own end, elimnate turnovers, and be disciplined. At some point the Ducks PP is going to score. (probably...)
Regardless or who the Ducks start in goal tonight (and apparantly it WILL be Giguere. Angelus called it) this will be the toughest game of the series to win for the Oilers. And I want them to win it now. The Oilers have proven what a good team playing with confidence can do, and I don't want the Ducks to gain any confidence.
So let's win this game tonight Oilers!

    I BELIEVE!!!!

I'm fairly confident. I think the Oil get it done tonight. They'll be desperate to stay home and get some rest...they do NOT want to go back to Anahim.

My one worry is that IF Giggy starts, he regains his '03 form and pitches a shutout.

I agree with earl2 (who is great, by the way). I am not ready to celebrate anything yet. We can still lose.

If giggy starts thats an advantage to the Oil. He hasnt played in many weeks, I dont care how hard you practice. Practice is not a game and he is going to be rusty. THe crowd is going to be nuts tonight, it will give the boys a boost. Plus the Oil have shown some pretty amazing killer instint. I got confidence

Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

I trust that the boys will be working to outplay the ducks with every shift, and every cut of their skate blades into the ice.

Sure, there's a 50-50 chance they'll win or lose...might as well take the 50% we like

The 4th win is always the toughest to get. That said the Oil are just as motivated to win tonight as in any other time in the playoffs. I think if they can get on the ducks early they can close them out.

Re: Still worried about the Ducks

the look on Selanne's face after he scored his first goal showed quite clearly that the Ducks are mad and they are going to play with reckless abandon. At that point in the game they found their passion... their desire. They have indeed outplayed the Oilers. They do indeed have a measure of confidence knowing they can get pucks past Rolie. They will now be the as tough an opponent as the Oilers have faced - if the the toughest - in these playoffs.

Of course I want to see the Oil win tonight... but my gut is telling me otherwise. If the Oil do need to go to game 5, I feel pretty darn confident that they will win it.

But first we have to deal with Game 4. So what do I think they need to do to win?
                  1. Whether it is Giggy or Brxvyjastrsyghvxyov then they have to get something past him early. Rattle his confidence. Plant a man in front and make if tough for him to get into a groove. Ugly is fine, just get something in.
                  2. Hit the Ducks! I feel that the Oil have really let up on their hitting. Sure you can't go for the big hit all the time - you get burnt by misses and penalties. But smart hitting will throw the Quacks off their offensive schemes.
                  3. Protect Rolie. Too many times I saw the Quacks taking a run at him. The next time someone does that I expect to see retribution. I don't care if a penalty ensues. If it sparks a fight then maybe the refs will open their eyes.

Oilers are 2-0 in elimination games these playoffs... both at home.

I see no reason why we won't win again tonight.

I would rather be the 3-0 Oilers worrying about game four, than the 0-3 Mallards fearing it.....

I heard on the Team that Smyth, Hemsky and Moreau being gametime decisions. And Torres is questionable. This causes me to worry....
