    Wild Ride

Thank God no one was seriously hurt or killed.

I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

Forgive my lack of knowledge of racing...but didn't that look like the fault of the 09 car that was trailing? What happens in this case --- does the 09 car win the race? And does the driver of the 99 car get credit for jogging across the finish line?!
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

No, he doesn't get credit for finishing the race.

The 09 had position underneath and you can't cross the yellow line at Talledega, so it's the 99s fault since he came down when the 09 already had position. Carl Edwards even admitted it was his fault.

Best summed up by the time honoured racing phrase:

" It was one of them racin' deals"

99 made the mistake of opening the door with a guy on his back bumper who is pretty green and very hungry. He made it worse by trying to slam the door closed. At 'dega you simply never lift your foot off the gas. You can drag the brake to slow momentum a bit but you never lift all day long. Restrictor plate racing is a crazy business.

          - "Turf toe can often progress into a chronic problem..."
          - "A mild instance of turf toe (grade 1) can be merely aggravating while a serious case (grade 3) can be debilitating."

Most Nascar drivers HATE Talladega Nights as they do Days of Thunder

Any of them who would actually think Talledega Nights is about NASCAR or racing have likely been in a few too many crashes without appropriate safety equipment!

And then there is the old phrase in racing of spinning yourself out. Thats when you try and cut someone of like that and you simply end up taking yourself out. And with the plates they were put in after Bobby Allison crashed into the fence at roughly the same place there in 1988.
A lot of people go through life doing things badly. Racing is important to men who do it well. When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting." Michael Delaney AKA- Steve McQueen
