    This is going to be an..."interesting" Olympics on a bunch of levels.

    I especially can't wait to watch Canada get dominated in hockey...
    Keep an open mind, and you never know who might walk in...

        My interest in the Olympics waned significantly when Gary Bettman pulled out the NHL Players. Sorry but not sorry.

          It's all good. If the hockey tournament is all that interests you, so be it.

          Personally, I'm actually happy the NHL is out... will give the spotlight to the rest of our athletes in the myriad of other sports.

              There really weren't many amateurs involved even when that's what it was purported... some pros are just much better compensated than others

                The problem with the "pros out" point of view is that it doesn't take into account that in most Olympic sports the highest level IS amateur. Take figure skating. Turning "pro" means the Ice Capades.

                The NHL absolutely should be in. It actually keeps it uniform with most other Olympic sports.

                  I don't think there are any amateur requirements anymore. Most were done away with in the 70's. Boxing was the last holdout, but pros were allowed there in 2016 too.

                    Ultimately the only reason pros won't suit up for their countries in hockey is because Gary Bettman is the only person on the planet more greedy than a guy like Sepp Blatter.
