    Hat's Off Guys...

Ok. So I know that I've complained about this before...but it blew me away at the Fan Day how many guys didn't take their hat off when O Canada was played before the scrimmage...
Not just young guys (who, no offense to anyone-but are usually the worst culprits) but older as well. How about shutting the f*ck up too when they play our song people? Show a little bit of respect...

    Ugh....

Other than that I thought the Fan Day was great!

It really pisses me off at any event where our national anthem is played when people don't remove their hats! It should never even need to be mentioned over any p.a. system. Use your head people!

Hats off, and unless you're singing along you shut the hell up.

Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

Learn something new everyday, only grown guys are expected to doff their caps... women and children, not so much

Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

People who don't remove their hats during the anthem should be punched in the face.

That said....I hate that they play anthems before sporting events and would love to see that tradition trashcannned.

not meaning to start a debate .... but why? (already sorry I asked I think).

            - "Turf toe can often progress into a chronic problem..."
            - "A mild instance of turf toe (grade 1) can be merely aggravating while a serious case (grade 3) can be debilitating."

There are lots of people that don't even take off their hats (young and old) when they sit down at a resturant to eat which if you look pretty much everywhere is supposed to be the common thing to do. So do you think these type of people give a damn about taking theit hats off during the anthem?? Not a chance sadly.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

I've always felt that they were out of place at sports events, and that they wasted time before getting things going. I don't really get why it happens. I almost always try to time my arrival at sports events for just as the anthems are being sung.

I don't really care but I do tend to agree with you. CFL teams are primarily filled with American players most of which don't even live in Canada after the season is over so does the anthem really apply to them? A great example is this years Stanley cup finals. All the games are in the US so only the American anthem is played. But look down the rosters of the 2 teams. The Kings have 8 players listed on their active roster out of 26 that are American. The rest are primarily Canadian with a few europeans. The Devils only have 6 Americans.

I guess the anthems are really played for the fans?

I'm with ya... I'm alright with it at special events like championship games or even all-star games, but having it every game at every sport just seems to be unnecessary, inviting trouble, and just kind of demeans it.

The lack of respect in today's world is appalling but don't worry, the "what about me-- entitlement" society is fast drawing to a close. Relief is at hand.

National anthems should be played at international games.

Don't think they really have a place at league games.
