Barrin Simpson on the trade block

    http://tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=290649

It would be great to have in Eskimos silks, but we have a pretty damn good MLB.

I just hope he doesn't go to Sask. Maybe O'Billovich will try to get him back.

Most likely though, Sask or Calgary. Neither really have cap space, but when has that ever mattered. I suppose Toronto could be thrown into the argument as well...maybe Moreno back to Peg?

All I know is that Kelly has done a really good job of screwing things up in Bomberland.

Why exactly would you think the Riders would go after him? Reportedly Rey Williams will be back the week after next. If Williams were heading to the 9 game list maybe the Riders would be interested, but if he is close to returning then there is no way the Riders would want to take on that salary.

After looking, he likely is going to be on the 9 gamer for a couple of more games, but still, I can not see the Riders trading for Simpson, Williams replacement has been just fine, and I think other teams will offer way more than the Riders likely would be willing to pay for 9 games of Barrin Simpson.

Considering they cut KJ this week, and listening to KJs interview at practise today, the Esks were looking at bringing in more LB. Given the type of player simpson can be I think that there will be 7 other teams interested in his services. Now that this is public it will be interesting to see what the Bombers get in return.

And yes Mr. Kelly has not done a very good job in Bomberland. I would be very surprised if he lasts the season.

I REALLY hope that Edmonton-Winnipeg trade pipeline opens up again.

According to Regina radio Williams is on the 9 game and doing much better then expected, but they may not have the salary room to bring him off early. Given that this is a trade, salary could go back the other, so the cap is not as much of an issue (depending on how much space they have left). Then again having no cap space has not stopped the Riders before

Is Simpson strictly a MLB or can he play outside? If so, bye-bye Restelli.....

Might not take much to pry him loose from the Bombers, either. Maybe a return of the draft pick we got for LeFors??

I don't know if his position would allow him to fit in our roster...

...but I love not just his play, but also his character. This guy would just look right as an Eskimo.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

If we're starting to run a 3-4...and it kinda sounds like we are...we have room for another MLB.

And I would love to see a Simpson-Lloyd middle. Our run D was good early in the year when Mo was healthy...with those two there, it would probably be just as or more effective.

Consolation to potentially losing the leading tackler in the league, is that Joe Lobendahn(sp?) his likely replacement is one hell of a football player.
