I read somewhere just today that he was still going to try to play this year. Guess it was an old article!
It said something about him having his dad's DNA for heart and work ethic...but his mom's DNA for fragile body...

It sounded funnier when I read it.

Probably for the best, unfortunately he just wasn't built for the contact end of the game... fortunately he's custom-built for bobsled, and if they can teach him to drive he could do some big things.
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

Certainly, although I'm not going to hold the glass body against my judgement of the man. Sometimes that's just how it goes. Luck of the draw.

My last memory of Jesse was at Olympics bobsled event; he careened past me at 150 km/hr, close enough to reach out and touch. But if I had, I'm sure Jesse would have broken a bone.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

I think your bones would be the ones more likely to break in that scenario...

            Sad to see.

I kept holding out hope that his string of bad luck would reverse course and he'd start proving the doubters wrong. Even as recently as a few weeks back, I was telling someone that the knee injury was a pure football injury that would've likely happened to anyone that got caught in that situation, and that his chronic stuff (shoulder, hamstring) would've had over two years to heal by the time he was back.

I have a ton of respect for the type of teammate he was reported to be and his willingness to take on whatever role was needed. He is a class act all the way and I look forward to watching him compete for Canada for years to come.

Too bad for Jesse, real nice dude hopefully he can win gold in bobsledding in 2014 in Russia. Wonder what could have been if his shoulder didn't go kaboom in his one game as an Eskimo.

Yep. All the best to him.

Lumsden has not been healthy for a really long time (even going back to his college days), and this was the best thing for him. All the best to him and I hope he brings gold home to Canada.

Really unfortunate. Based on what we saw from him if he was not injury prone we could have been talking about one of the alltime greats as far as Canadian RBs are concerned. Best of luck jesse.
