    I brought up Cavaliers before (as it is the french equivalent to "Riders", and thought it would be a great way to stick it to the copycat wienies in Saskabush), but as Solar pointed out, they gotta have that big ol' R back on the helmet.

        With Carleton University located in Ottawa I personally wouldn't mind it if they went with the Ottawa Ravens. From a traditional point of view it makes a lot of sense to me.

          They should do what the Baltimore CFL "Colts" used to do. Don't give the team a nickname...then when the team runs on the field, the commentator calls out, "And here are your Ottawa..." ...to which the fans yell out "Rough Riders"!

            Carleton returns to CIS football next year, I think they'd like to avoid doubling up on a name to keep the two things separate.

              Clever! I agree, it should be Rough Riders. Can't help the fact that team Safeway and the fans of that team have a major superiority complex.
              When you don't know that you don't know, it's a lot different than when you do know that you don't know.

                I thought they did give the Balitmore CFL club a nickname...wasn't it Stallions?

                  A lot of good nicknames that begin with the letter R out there...Raiders, Ramblers, Rams, Rangers, Ravens, Rebels, Riverhawks, Ridgebacks, Rockets, Roughnecks, Royals...to name a few that came up via a search on the internet.

                    Roughnecks would work...has "part" of the old Rough Riders name, and then a new part to pave the way of the future...

                      That was later on. At first they were the no-names, or the Baltimore CFLers.
