I know, I know don't feed the troll but let's get this straight. You want to play the 3rd and 4th QB options in the second pre-season game instead of using it as a warm up for your #1? Wow even for a trolling comment that's a stupid thing to suggest.

That was a steaming pile of RFR. Ray didn't dress, Lumsden saw no action until the 4th quarter, the defensive starters were done by the second series in the second quarter.

Enjoy the cellar this year as it's still decorated in green and white wall to wall carpeting that you had installed back in 1981

          Just to be clear:

The Riders played at 7 MST.

          The Esks at 8 MST.

And you were listening to the Eskimo/BC game, not the Rider/Calgary game?

While it's most likely you're just full of crap, you might have the worst case of penis envy I've ever seen

That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.

Ray certainly did look rusty in the 2nd quarter (he didn't see the field much in the 1st). But boy, he looked like Ricky Ray again in the 3rd, which is why his stats turned out not bad.

Just what you'd expect from the guy's first time walking out onto the field this season.

Time for you and your Rider fan brethren to get a grip on reality. Durant hasn't put up impressive numbers in the past.....when he's had over 100 attempts in a season he's never had more than a 60% efficiency rating. Couple this with the fact that he's the new Danny Mcmanus in that he throws almost as many INTs as he does TDs, plus look at the fact that he's never translated the success he's had from the NCAA into the pros, and that he's supposedly the best QB you've got means you'll be in trouble this season. Fantuz, Dressler, or Clermont may be able to step up and compensate at times but with undeveloped QBs throwing them the ball the receivers won't be able to do enough on their own to win.

This leaves Wes Cates as your only legitimate offensive weapon - problem is when this is your only good weapon defences will key in on him, limiting his effectiveness.

Contrast this with Stefan Lefors, who in injury fill in to Ray in 2007, did a pretty good job considering he had no chemistry with the receivers and our o-line was inferior to what it is now, including a game against your beloved Riders in which he passed for over 400 yards. His efficiency rating was also much better at 72.8. Now this is a QB that is due for a breakout year. He has the history to back it up. He's also going to be the annointed starter which means eventually with enough games under his belt he'll develop chemistry with the Bombers' receivers and runners.

Bottom line: you're dreaming if you think the Riders will win the division this year. Durant may have a breakout year in the future but it won't be this year. You're going to have to live with the reality he's not developed yet and has not proven he's able to handle being a starter yet.

But don't let facts get in the way of a good koolaid party. Rider fans never have before and they won't now.....

I cannot wait until July 25 when the Esks will crush the Riders. Oh, and FYI - nothing looks good in green and white....

Ray won't be going anywhere for a long time.
Now I'll ignore everything except this. Durant had no chemistry with the receivers either, hell he wasn't even getting 2nd string reps. Didn't help later in the season when he started we still only had one major receiver back for him. Oh and by the way, his efficiency rating was actually 86.8, so he must be poised for a much better year than LeFors...

                  Re: 15-3?

[QUOTE=Soudog;511509]Got into a back/forth email discussion with our good friend 56Parkies the other day, & it got me pondering...

In all seriousness, I can't recall a team with the depth this team seems to have since the '81 team that went 14-2 -- and I was there on the inside, so that's REALLY saying something!

We (they) have depth - particularly in Canadians - at just about every position, and that's scary! The only thing that evens out the playing field, IMO, is the "injured" ...[QUOTE]

15-3, well at least you got your three games with the Riders pegged right. But as for the 15 wins, I still think you are in tuff sweeping Calgary and Montreal.

I expect us to be closer to 15-3 than the 10-8 season we had last year.

My numbers on the season were taken from Durant's own website. As far as my 1st bolded point - you just proved it. If a QB who has no chemistry with his receivers can still have success and another QB who doesn't have chemistry with his receivers still doesn't have success, then which is the better QB? Obviously it's the 1st one. That QB was Lefors.

Ignore the facts all you want - Durant will crash and burn this year due to lack of experience, and the Riders will be in the basement once again.

I dont expect anything great from Durant.. I still say by week 5 Printers will be in Green and White...

As for Lefors - I'm not sure how he'll do.. I wish him well.. and IMO he has a better crop of receivers to work wtih so he should progress and get better faster than Durant

Well, if Crandell and Bishop can get a chance on the Riders' QB merry-go-round, then why not Printers?

It's also a lot of fun to pee in the Rider fans' koolaid with facts and figures.....

They'll throw all their QBs under the bus by season's end anyway.....

Wow. That's because that's his COMPLETION PERCENTAGE, not efficiency rating. Lefors completion percentage is also 60.0, but his efficiency rating is much lower.
