    Eskie Pride

I must admit I'm kinda shocked to see only 232 Esks fans registered for the Reebok competition. The Als and Argos fans have us beat by 300 fans.

Jesse has already been beaten in his first head to head matchup and is facing elimination. It's now my turn, from Thursday (today) to next Thursday I'll be facing off against Barrenechea. Just seems wrong not to have at least one Esk in the right side of this bracket with a chance to go on.

I figure Esks fans are already going to the Grey cup and have their tickets in hand, so don't need to win some from reebok via this competition. Be that as it may, I'm hoping that some will come on and support.

Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

Voted for Jesse everyday, will be voting for you everyday...kinda disappointed in the Eskie numbers as well, we were 3rd for a while and were rising quickly but then we went downhill pretty quickly.

To be honest, this site is the only place I've noticed the contest being mentioned. Are there commercials during games? Maybe I tune out during commercials.

Putting my eskie pride aside, Kamau, your catch should win. That was a hell of a moment. Great catch, great hit....you add the situation with Tucker and how it sparked a great comeback from us....and it's just an all around great football moment.

The best usually don't. These things are popularity contests, plain and simple. American Idol is the same. I watched it years ago because I appreciate talent, but I haven't watched it once since a terrific singer was voted off because she was heavy, or black or people didn't like her, or some other reason. I think these contests are silly. KP's catch was terrific, but fans somewhere (maybe the Riders) will gang up on him and vote in some lesser one.

Agreed. But I voted for KP anyway.

And I signed up for the contest too. But got the first question wrong. Who knew that the Riders hold the record for most West Division final appearances (11, 1966-76)? They were actually good for a prolonged stretch
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Question? Did I miss something along the way?

You can earn points for your favourite team by answering trivia questions. For me it was on the right side of the screen.

Just kidding. My vote for KP is in. Definitely deserves to win.

I must have missed the time when this was mentioned on the site. I actually saw an ad for this on the jumbo-tron before the BC game.

There is a thread created roughly around the time the contest started and people were posting the answers in it.

Between the weird mime/clown guy purposely walking in my way when getting to Commonwealth, security going through my purse, getting food, and getting to my seats... I missed the start of the BC game. Actually, I missed the whole 1st quarter, even though I got there on time. So I missed the advertisement on Thursday. lol

This should be pushed more, IMO.

anytime you have an online contest that includes the Riders, forget all hope of people voting legitimately. Why do you think Dressler beat Jackson?

I'll still be voting, but I imagine this will be Cates vs. Dressler in the final....

here is an example of the thinking from the Rider site:

                            Votes for this week:

Hage gets the vote because his hit on Mo is better than Proulx's hit.

I think Barrenechea gets the vote because I hate Edmonton.
I'm not surprised.....I hope you aren't dissapointed Ocho, but someone over there has over 500 accounts...
