Wow...TJ for a practice roster DB? Granted Tristan didn't exactly light up the field last year between long stretches on the injured list but still...I'd have thought he'd be worth more than that. Maybe that's the problem. He was WORTH more than that...
Well, from my first look, this trade benefits the Riders more than the Esks strictly because they didn't have a returner on the roster to speak of. They do now, and we have a guy who was on the practice roster. But, I don't know much about Key, so I hope he proves me wrong. This is a tough one to call, because we're dealing with a young (still 25) returner/db in TJax who has shown he can do his thing in this league, but there is the injury... Personally, I think the average KR is a dime a dozen (much like an import WR). I don't think TJax is average, but this may be a case where we got something for him versus having to just outright release him and get nothing...
I hope Key makes us all believers and I hope TJax doesn't burn it up this year!
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are
Apparently ET has been very high on this guy for some time now. He was the one who brought Key to the Riders. I guess we'll have to see. Another test of his ability to judge talent.

Yeah, pretty much how I feel. I would've liked to see one more asset our way...maybe a late rd pick to replace one of the ones we gave to WPG.
We don't lose too much because we have guys that can and have KR'ed here before (Whitlock did some last year, pretty sure Lester has as well...plus the Fisher kid, and I'm sure there'll be a couple more). We do help SSK, though.
I don't rake anyone over the coals for this deal, but I give no props for it either.
One thing I do (continue to) dislike is the appearance of another "Tillman guy". See here:

Is that really necessary to say? That statement can cut many ways depending on one's opinion of Tillman and his ability. But I wouldn't say that it will do him many favours with fans of T-Jax, or fans of the Esks who are sick of ex-Rider players coming in here. Omarr Morgan wasn't exactly ages ago.
Ladarious Key is a guy who ET recruited - he should have started last year instead of Omarr
Yeah, that seems to be the sense I got from a number of Rider fans (at least splitting duties with Morgan). But just because he was good enough to start for the Riders doesn't guarantee him anything with the new, improved, ready to kick some ass, Edmonton Eskimos
Can't wait for training camp!
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are
