Congratulations to the Edmonton Eskimo management team

I have to stop and say congratulations to all of our management team this year including the coaching staff and the general manager.

The last time that we finished 11-7 was way back in 2005 and you have to go back to 2003 to get a better regular season finish (13-5).

For the first time in a long time I am personally excited about the young talent on the team and win or lose in the playoffs this year it looks like we may be finally turning the corner.

Right on boys, let's get back to the Evil Empire that we knew and loved. It hasn't been too pretty this year but I am convinced that the tide has turned.

As long as ET doesn't screw up bringing most of the young guns back I tend to agree... we have improved drastically over last year.... especially on defense!!!!

A legitimate #2 QB MUST be our first priority during the off season..... one that can scramble and still throw a decent ball!

      Congratulations!
Based purely on the results, (and the 5 game win streak, Hamilton away game, Labour Day game), i've enjoyed this regular season more than i have in quite a few seasons. I'm looking forward to watching this team grow and consolidate into something special. Getting a home playoff game for the first time since 2004 in year one of this new regime is big. Extra revenue, more positive media attention, and extra fans coming out is what this team needs and getting a home playoff game is just what the doctor ordered.
      Congratulations!

Win or lose, I have more respect for Reed than Hall, DM and Ned combined. For the first time in a decade you get the feeling that someone with some potential is on the sidelines although in fairness, Hall didn't stand a chance with the Beast from the East in charge.

Well put. Totally agree. I'm real happy with Kavis Reed as the HC.

Not gonna lie, im jealous you beat me to the post.

I just want to say THANK YOU Coach Reed for getting our city a home playoff game. I also want to thank all the players for their hard work throughout the season. I am moving overseas in January and this will be my last season as a season ticket holder. (been a holder for the past 7 years) so this will be my second ever home playoff game, and I have to say it couldnt have come at a better time!

Sure the team hasn't played pro bowl caliber as of late, but we secured ourselves a home playoff game. And when we recovered the fumble at the end of tonights game... I went bananas!! IMO this has to be the greatest regular season ever. Won the series against the Stamps, beat them in their own stadium, and the Riders are winless against Western opponents. SOOOOO HAPPPPY!!! (would have liked to see BC go winless for atleast another 3 if not 4 weeks tho)

So THANK YOU Coach Reed and all the ESKS players that fought their hearts out this season. Congrats to Messam, Ray, Stamps, and Bowman for their accomplishments this season. Also Bowman had a BEAST game!!! 226yards and 2 tds. Thats better than every single NFL WR this year so far... He would have killed the fantasy points...(I want to see more of that in the playoffs) Could stay here all night congratulating the DEFENCE and other players who helped get us here.

Here's to only 1 game to play going into the GC!!! For tomorrow ONLY... Go Montreal!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU KAVIS REED!!! THANK YOU!!! (my favorite coach of all time... NFL... CFL... NBA.... movies.... Coach Reed #1 in my books)

                THANK YOU ESKIMOS!!

Notice a certain person or pesons who always disses Tilman is not praising the fine job he did this year?
If we were put on this earth to help others, what were the others put on earth for?

Maybe he (or they) had other things they were doing in the 2 hours and 23 minutes between the start of the thread and your post.

Expect some news on that come the offseason. Some of you may be happy with who they want to sign, if it does go down.

For now, congrats to everyone on the Esks this season. Ups and down but one hell of a wild ride, that's for sure.

I wanted Kavis as the HC since Macocia stepped into the GM role.

Also a big congrats to Eric Tillman, who really wasn't wanted here by most of the fan base. He's turned this team from the least talented team in the league (especially Canadian talent and hmm.. Now we have a 1000 yard Canadian rusher) and produced one of the most competitive teams in the league in a year since his arrival.

Congrats to the staff that really wasn't wanted by a whole lot of people. I'm glad you shut some people up.

This begs the obvious question: If you've had season tickets for the last 7 years, why were you crying about being a poor student that couldn't afford to pay $70 for a couple of seats? Methinks there may be some holes in your story.

As for all of you who are trying to derail the thread by making comments about ET haters (of whom I proudly happen to be one).....the mature thing to do is to comment on the other non-GM aspects of the organization that contributed to this season's successes so far OR to refrain from commenting in the thread altogether. The immature thing to do is to try to create drama. 'Nuff said.

Re: Congratulations to the Edmonton Eskimo management team

The management team definitely deserves all of the kudos that come their way even if that is the last game the Esks win this year (which I certainly hope it is not). I stated at the beginning that IMO they were taking a huge risk in getting rid of the number of players that they did. The team definitely needed change but I was of the opinion that they went too far. That being said I also believed that since it was their butts on the line that they needed to do what they believed in but that at the same time I would be holding them accountable and would be expecting results this year and not 2 or 3 years down the road.

Getting a home playoff game with that many new players (even new to the CFL) is an incredible accomplishment. This also is what seperates KR from Paul Lapolice (whose squad had very little change from last year) in the coach of the year competition. What a truly tremendous leader KR is and what a great coaching staff. Except for some of the game plans on offense at a few points during the season I've had very little to complain about. And perhaps I'm being somewhat too critical here as I've already heard many whispers that MC will be seriously considered for the HCing job for the Riders so there are many out there that are clearly impressed with him.

ET and his scouts also deserve some credit here for a few of the players that they found along with the great moves made during the draft (Ted Laurent for a 2nd rounder? Brilliant!). ET also had the foresight to keep PJ, EH, and McKinnon. Not everyone would have had the nerve to keep anyone from the old regime in place (this includes KR doing the same with TP and MN). Kudos to the team!
